  1. Soon soon. Watch this space. Some surprise changes to THE SIR.
  2. I don't ride SS. It brings me no joy at all. I have no idea on the weight of my 9 kg SIR9...
  3. I imagine most of the weight is sitting with the fork and wheel/ tyre setup. Many steel framed SS rigs are sub 10. Oh and a hint - weight isn't such a big deal in SS land... same as telling people you ride SS. Hush hush.
  4. Therein lies the business decision, I'd guess. Always a bigger play in the mix with these kind of moves.
  5. The most obvious problem to me would be an incorrectly dished wheel as opposed to a badly aligned frame.
  6. This looks like one of the first Zero frames - which had their issues. Your axle to crown length on that fork doesn't look right for the frame geo - I could be wrong, it may be the picture. I'd say it should have an axle to crown of closer to 490 than 475, given its ideally run with trail geo over full on XC geo. Tatt's suggest above isn't far off.
  7. Nothing worse than a SS rider telling you he's a SS rider. Just ride. People will notice - if that's the aim.
  8. Drop Henning (above) a line. His requirements seemed similar to yours and he's happy with the forks he got.
  9. You get some V brakes with an elongated guide/ slot where the height of the brake pad can be adjusted. Apparently some of these can work on multiple rim diameters...
  10. Seatstay cut and coupled . Very well done.
  11. Cross or gravel grind setup?
  12. Hmmm. I may need to go back to SS...
  13. Solaris?
  14. BB mounted chain guide from a MTB. If it's a treaded BB with external cups, it'll work like a charm. The single roller type will hide behind the chainring so aesthetics will be maintained.
  15. Humble apologies - you have a reply.
  16. Sure I can. How many do you want? 100? 200?...
  17. Hi Raab I can assist. Drop me me a PM. Regards Ryan
  18. Surprise! I went for a ride!
  19. Cotic. Better materials, upto date geometry and a better brand IMO. Wish I never sold mine. I will own one again soon enough.
  20. With the nerd here. 2.8 isn't plus & definitely not fatty. Running two tyre sizes on this platform is a stretch - more fit convenience than specific design. Clearance looks marginal - to take advantage of plus tyres one should be able to run low pressures. At low pressures my guess is with normal tyre roll plus tyres will touch this frame. I would prefer to get a frame actually designed around multiple tyre sizes by a manufacturer that's been at for a lot longer than these new comers.
  21. Sorry chaps - she is sold. Yes. She. I was attached to this fork...
  22. To get equivalent to a sagged 26" suspension fork one will run a 440-450mm rigid axle to crown. 470-490mm on a 29r. Based on a 100mm suspension fork.
  23. 650B plus
  24. Will be the same (or similar) to an unsagged suspension fork. Won't have the same average axle to crown during a ride.
  25. Not sure how well an oval ring will work without any 'give' in the drive train... The compromise of having to run too much slack just to use a oval ring would be too great for me.
