  1. According to some German research ... Racing Ralp Evo 2.25 vs Rocket Ron 2.25: Rocket Ron is slightly better at: Traction, Racling Ralph is slightly better at: Thorn Resistance, Flattening Height, Rolling Resitance
  2. I wanna get some mining head lamps for nigh racing. Buddy at the Nandos Magalies last year had one and it looked like daylight with him around. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I found guys that supply cable free headlamps which I want to try out. I?m just not sure what I need & how much light does a certain amount of Lux or Lumen mean. For example ? what distance clear visibility will the following provide: Lamp A: R503 Working Hours => 12 hours Illumination 11 hours later not less than 1000Lx Weight 110 grams Lamp B: R685 Working Hours >- 14 Hours (1200Lx) Working Hours >= 6 Hours (2000Lx) Weight 130 grams
  3. Jip, had the same problem on my new MTB ... Had to rebuild the wheel in my case - so check your spokes
  4. back to the topic ... <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> i like the idea ... i like new technology ... lots of people laughed when someone dreamed about landing on the moon ... somebody needs to invest in new technology, spend hordes of money on r&d and marketing ? so i will support them maybe 10 years from now we all look back and argue about what the hell we did before this new technology ? just think about all the things we use now that were previously frowned upon by idiots and pessimists and what have you all ?
  5. Tyd om bietjie modder op daai oranje raam te kry Narra Cool bike
  6. check out this http://www.bicicletta.co.za/Clearance%20Items%20-%20Schwalbe.htm I got the noby nic 2.25 up front & it's gr8 (non-UST snakeskin - but it works just as well as UST)
  7. Keep it real ... Keep it all mountain ... Remember, the rest of the sani gang is watching you ...
  8. Hahahaha ... so it's all your fault then
  9. Why is there such a big number of posts in the wrong Forums Is this by mistake or is there a gremlin somewhere? Sorry, kind of irritates me ... getting it slightly wrong is ok?ish ? but whutsup with some of the posts in the For Sale section?Ysterman2010-01-26 01:28:20
  10. Jip, same here
  11. So how big is the diffs between the uno & mille?
  12. From the latest newsletter: "Riders Riding in other people?s names: <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> It has been brought to our attention that a few people are selling entries through the HUB and that these buyers will be using other people?s names to avoid using the correct channels. Not only is this extremely dangerous, it is also wrong and many people on the waiting list are being deprived of a chance to do the event. We are not a school, so we can only say that if you are one of the people who have sold an entry on this basis or you are doing sani2c in someone else?s name more than likely something bad will happen to you. This is the way the Universe tends to work ? so if you crash down the side of the mountain during the event and no one knows who you are don?t be surprised." I can understand that with the battle to get hold of an entry that perhaps MTBers are considering ?options? to hold on to entries, but seriously guys ... don?t mess it up for the rest of us ... do the right thing
  13. Very sad news indeed ... And places to train are getting less and less ... seems that I will have to invest in an indoor trainer ... how boring ...
  14. Was looking for bibs a couple of weeks ago & tried out a whole lot ... my favorite was the Spez RS10 or something ... however, my body geometry causes most bibs? padding to sit "too low" or ?forward? ? which means I sit on the material and not the padding ?<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Then at Norhtcliff Cycles the guys recommended I try a Bash ? apparently from the Assos factory in Pakistan ? the same but perhaps older padding, not sure how close the design overall is to the Assos I?m no Assos fan, but if the Bash is ?realted? to Assos ? the Bash sits nice, and has been working really well, no problem on 4-5 hrs in the saddle (all for R700 ?)
  15. Thanks for all the advice. I got a pair of these Spez BG Gel gloves - the padding looks the best of the lot ... will see if more padding means better protection ... <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I've had a bike setup done, and have also being doing a lot of core exercises (half of my gym time is spent on the mat at Paulshof ...) If this doesn?t work, next steps would perhaps be bike setup again & the option of the ergo grips. Thinking about it now, most of the time the problems occurs when climbing hills ... could it be my technique on climbs
  16. Thanks Spinnekop. Any problems still with hands / fingers going numb with the LGs?
  17. Any thoughts & your experience on these 2 brand gloves - which works better ... I have serious issues with my ulnar nerves - especially the right hand when MTBing Louis Garneau Rex Gel Gloves - is this LG's only ulnar protection glove - I didn't see other on the website Specialized have a couple BG gloves in their road section that claims ulnar nerve protection. Unfortunately their website is down at the moment ...
  18. Burry looks kinda clean ... you guys sure it was a MTB race ...
  19. Gr8 idea! I've seen some serious injuries om MTB's ... Hopefully my day never comes, but when it does, I pray that there's a qualified doctor close with equipment & drugs. Tim - is there MTB first aid classes somewhere - I think I need to go on one of those. Two of my MTB buddies had serious shoulder injuries in the last 8 months ...
  20. Narra, daai ysterperd het moer lekker gery - en ja, hy is silwerskoon & weer terug op die bank Maar meer belangrik, noudat jy jou 1ste modder "geproe" het, wanneer kry jy vir jou 'n ordentlike fiets?
  21. Don't forget Memel! I love that little forgotten FreeState town. Plenty of dirt roads, mountain passes, etc. And the hotel is a lekker place to stay - been there a few times on a scooter
