  1. You have more then likely hit the nail on the head here, it will be way more taxing on the old legs. Thanks for the reply
  2. Awesome vid We are blessed with the trails in KZN The "Wooo Hooo" at the beginning made me laugh as did you guys laughing at each other wiping out.
  3. I was thinking thats what his mindset was. I've not ridden this particular race before so I can't comment on how well it flowed. Have you heard someone say that before anywhere else?
  4. Thats exactly where it is
  5. Or as Chopper would say, HTFU.
  6. I know I shouldn't be laughing, but I couldn't help it. That one guy I thought he had knocked out all his teeth.
  7. I was going to bring that up, I almost wet myself laughing at some of the falls. Some hectic face plants, these are skills that should be masterd before riding a race.
  8. I agree, if the whole 45km was single track it would have been even better. Is the jeep track needed for the guys that can't really ride stuff that is too technical?
  9. He finished in about 2h15 so no slow riders to be stuck behind. He has become more of XC racer then a trail rider, still don't get it though. What was your time like Mr. Drongo? I was gonna ask if was too technical, but I guess not from your reply.
  10. He can handle most technical stuff, maybe he just was not fit enough and was just bitching cause his times were slower.
  11. I think so, he never used to complain either. Is the jeep track needed in a race to get a breather. I was wondering what a 45km race would be like just riding single track, taking into account it would need areas you can pass on.
  12. So, I was chatting to one of my riding partners/ mates that did the Subaru MTB Classic this past weekend in KZN. When I asked him how he did, and what the race was like he tells me in no uncertain terms, "There was too much single track" Can there be too much in a race? Now for me, if I had not been ill, I would have been loving every single minute of it, he got a top 100 finish, so over crowding can't have been an issue. He reckons that there was about 30km of Single Track in the 45km race Just wanted to see what other Hubbers think
  13. I would suggest getting laid more often if that was you in the picture
  14. I'm sure there was an article about this in the Daily News or latest Mens Health yesterday, will have a look when I get home. I always have milk after a ride/ gym anyway.
  15. I've also got a Thule Euroway, and also looking at using a rubberised cable and a cable bike lock. One is about 20mm(5 Star rating I got when in the UK) for locking the bike to the Thule and the other is about 6/8mm cable to lock the wheels in with a pad lock as Eccentric1 described. Just worried about the rubbing and the damage it could do.
  16. With all these chains & locks dangling about, what about possible damage to your bikes frame, or wheels , will they pay that out if you claim for a damaged bike
  17. Are they any good ? They look like a "Manta Ray"
  18. Try a Specialized saddle, it has the cut out for this exact problem, also the saddle may be the wrong width as well. Maybe go get your backside measured up.
  19. He sure made me a happy customer too
  20. Are those portable pumps any good? I saw them at the camping store and almost bought one. Just not 100% sure about them, but they seem great for home use.
  21. Its all they can afford having spent their money on getting chopped up.
  22. How is Chris? Any details on his recovery/ condition? Just reading this makes you realise how quickly things in life can change, I hope that all are recovering well and will be back on their bikes soon
  23. I think you ae missing the point again. No one is saying that we can't have roadies on the trails, and no one is trying to form separatist groups either. It's like I said earlier, less attitude and more respect for fellow trail users, makes everything a lot safer and more pleasant for all those involved. You are, in a sense defending their attitude and way of conduct on a trail, just cause they are apparantly roadies.
  24. They have migrated from the road with the same mentalities of riding like a tjop and taking up as much space as possible in order to assert themselves and make their presence known.
  25. I see you mention 20-25% on a XC bike, any recommendations for a Trail bike?
