  1. Thanks, sold me I shall name my bikes, Hansel & Gretal so as to follow the breadcrumbs. One last question, are Brytons GPS files compatible with Garmin GPS files?
  2. A large bank account and no conscience when you have to lie about cycling related purchases. A speedo and goggles cost R1500?
  3. Can you swop between bikes with this? I want one unit for my two bikes. I was suggested to look at these as well. Are the Brytons better or worse, or same same as a Garmin
  4. Thanks for the reply, just to confirm a couple of things. When you say it doesnt do mapping, it wont give me directions for an already mapped trail that someone else has already mapped, via Garmin Connect.? I understand that it does not work the same as a street map GPS unit, just wanna be able to map my own route while riding a trail. Should I rather look at the Garmin 800 for that? I just wanna be able to explore more, but at the same time not get lost somewhere I've never ridden before, yes I know thats what MTB is about sometimes, but in the same breath, I don't wanna have planned a 3/4 hour ride and then I'm still stuck somewhere in the bush for 8 hours and too exhausted to get back.
  5. So my old Cateye bike computer died on me yesterday, it was old and was needing to be replaced. Reading through this thread it seems that the Garmin 500 is perfect for what I need, also like the idea of it being interchangeable between bikes, as I don't have a computer on my training bike at the moment. Easybike are doing what seems like a great deal at the moment, R2699 with the bundle. Just wanted to ask a bit more about the GPS capabilities, how does it work with mapping routes, and then being able to follow them. I like to explore and at the same time be able to follow other people routes, just want to be sure that I can do this. Many Thanks.

    New Tires

I'm also looking at a new front tyre, I was recommended to look at the Spez tyres, but which ones? I am currently running a 2.1 Excavator on the front, and am looking at something a bit wider and with more grip but don't want to sacrifice to much rolling resistance. I mostly do XC/ trail riding. This will be for KZN riding
  7. Just put a 9 speed crank onto my wifes bike, all the rest is 8 speed still. I too will be upgrading it slowly as parts wear out
  8. Stil waiting for something to happen or a call back, I've now left 6 different call backs and not got one yet, FFS
  9. Walk, ride, walk, ride, walk, walk and walk some more then ride again. Sounds like some of the 1 day races
  10. I've got three call backs that I'm waiting for, so three differant numbers in the hope I get at least one back. I've tried to call the Telkom shop, its been "busy" for 3 days now.
  11. Is crap, I was on hold for an hour last night, tried to call them first thing this morning but waiting time is over 30 mins this morning, I have asked for two call backs and not had one yet. I also logged for them to call me back via the Interweb. I can't get a hold of anyone to speak too, so damn frustrating

    CWC Service

Where was the drop-out coming from? Was this not all taking place within CWC and the workshop?
  13. For example, I typed in " I have an idea for a new thread" nothing comes u., I tried searching for info last night on choices for Front Tyres and then I have to sift through to 30 pages of irrelavent info when all I wanna know about is suggestions for front tyres. It just seems you have to go through so much stuff when trying to find specific info, not sure howit can be made better. Thanks for the thread post order
  14. Two of my mates that have just started MTBIng,and can barley ride 15km want to go racing this weekend cause another mate has convinced them its the things to do.
  15. Any news on the the thread post order(last post first)? As well as the search function to be updated somehow?
  16. Thats exactly what I was thinking last night I will ride a few select races this year, its all about having fun with the occasional bigger race thrown in as long as I already know the riding/ trails will be good. Are there possibly just too many races now? The sport has grown tremendously.
  17. I rode there recently and had no issues, didn't notice any skelms as it is a working farm. I was also by myself
  18. If they managed to bend a rotor, what happened to the rest of the bike?
  19. All good, not having the wife with me at the moment, is giving me plenty of time for cycling related activities. If you can also just chat to Jason, and confirm with him its all cool, maybe have a meeting with him Wednesday arvo at Giba? I did not get to ride yesterday, as I did my foot in bodyboarding on Sunday morning. I will confirm details with him this week.
  20. So what did you think of the new Blue/ Bizhub route?
  21. Is there pics of the whole bike? Why not just get a new 26" frame and a new wheel(s)
  22. I loved this section of Tokai, probably my favourite. Its just such a pity I only did this section of single track once. I fart arsed around on the Fairie Garden instead for some stupid reason, would loved to have gone back, but I ran out of time
  23. Please elaborate a bit more . No insurance? I'm not sure the original proof of purchase applies to the 2nd owner, I could be wrong and as Pain or Shine mentioned it may be worth a try.
  24. It could be bit of both, reading the report about the tragic death of the young lad in Inanda Rd, it seems the kid tried to cross the rd at the wrong time. Today while driving home, I pass two cyclists driving down the M13 through Westville, Durban bound riding two abreast and taking over the whole lane, I mean are these people retarded or something.
  25. The search function works so well that when I type, " I have an idea for a new thread" nothing comes up. The thread with the most posts ever, and it cannot be found
