  1. If you can afford it go for the Fox version. You will end up upgrading the Guide R on the 6 which will close the price gap anyway.
  2. I did a XC ride with a 1000m climbing and I am pĂȘ. Worried about this event????
  3. Fox DPX2! It is prettier.
  4. **** amped vir die race!
  5. Plumber 1 is actually relatively easy except for that last rocky part!
  6. I have entered and I am scared. Plumber 2 at race pace will claim some victims. I see they say that all large features are included, I wonder if the Plumber entrance drop at the top will be included. I need to hit that thing then, sigh...
  7. Low ball offers and people that pull out are par for the course for any classifieds. If you don't like it you can go to a pawn shop.
  8. In the case of Maxxis (probably other brands as well, but seriously why use another brand?) tires all the info (width, casing, compound etc.) is written on the drive (gear) side . The disc side just has the brand and tyre model.
  9. This wandering brake point thing is bull**** that reviewers think is an issue. All brakes change when they heat up during descents. In my experience a Shimano Ice-Tech system's feel also changes but on a very long descent but this has never been an issue as there is always spare power available. Other brakes such as my current SRAM Guide Setup just lose power and cause arm-pump, the bite point also changes as you have to squeeze harder! I don't replace brakes often and expect them to last a long time with minimal maintenance and high abuse. NONE of my previous SRAM brakes have been able to do this. ALL of my Shimano systems have. So I am happy to have a wandering bite point.
  10. I would suggest waiting for the 4-pot SLX. Alternatively normal SLX is great! Shimano has a few perks IMO, such as extremely easy bleeding, brake pad availability and the use of mineral oil.
  11. Guaranteed best seller in RSA https://www.pinkbike.com/news/Video-Chromag-Releases-New-Chris-Kovarik-Signature-Dagga-Pedal.html
  12. Is this going to be a pedal fest?
  13. After a complete horror show on my previous order my second one went better. Arrived in JHB 12 April. Got my invoice on the 16th. Received my parcel today. Used the Priority tracked option. Not Express. Quite a few holidays in the mix also. So all in all happy this time.
  14. I upgraded from 22mm ID to 29mm ID and I think it was worth it. The tire still collapses during hard cornering at probably the same pressure but it all just feels more controlled when folding. If you run new school tires which don't have DH sidewalls you need wide rims. Or you should just run narrow tires. Back in the day I had maxxiss 2.5 DH tires on my DH bike on Mavic 721 rims and they worked perfectly....
  15. Flat pedals win medals!
  16. Flat pedals are great for overall cycling confidence in technical terrain. You need the right shoes though for a good experience.
  17. That fast guy on tbe Ibex is likely just a good rider. I bet he will be faster still with a Maxxis DHRII or DHF.
  18. I have also always struggled with front tire drifting. What I have found though is that its always me not loading the front wheel enough. Rather than the bike or tires
  19. As far as tires go. Stay away from an Onza Ibex! I ate sh/t with mine quite often. Lol. They are awesome on dry rocky trails though. Maxxis DHRII is what I would recommend to all "aggressive riders" for a front tire. Also really like the Aggressor for a rear tire.
  20. I actually received my package today. Completely out of the blue. Forgot about my order so it was like a surprise gift. Express in my case took 5 weeks. Granted it was over the festive and black Friday period.
  21. My Skynet fiasco is similar to the other horror stories. Shipped from CRC 21Nov. Paid customs 4 Dec. Numerous mails and calls. Still don't have my goods. SAPO is honestly nicer to deal with.
  22. I honestly prefer SAPO to SkyNet.
  23. So today i get a message that says my customs payment is short by x amount. I paid the invoice I was sent to the cent. This is infuriating. Idiots
  24. I have the Alva 2 plate one. I used it as my only stove for 2 years. I love the thing. Honestly prefer it to all electric stoves I have used.
  25. This new Skynet partnership is crap. I had to wait 2 days for my invoice. Then another 2 days for the EFT money to clear. Still don't have my parcel that I ordered 21 Nov with the premium shipping option.
