  1. I bought the same deal today!
  2. I have a barely used Renthal Fatbar Carbon 35mm diameter in 30mm rise which is looking for a new home. PM me if you are interested.
  3. Chainreactioncycles
  4. You won't believe it, I own a Fortuner (4x4).
  5. Don't tell me you have never properly bottommed a fork....
  6. Please do, I personally don not feel fullfilled unless I have that reverberating steel-on-steel sensation through the handlebars at least once a ride.
  7. You need to bottom front and back at least once a ride. Thats why the travel is there. If you don't you are overbiked for that trail or your suspension setup is too stiff for your riding style. Unfortunately most of us run Gwin pressures with kook skills.
  8. You only need a helmet. Kneepads and gloves are a good idea if you have them. Hoogekraal is the best destination for a (fit) newbie that would like to try #Enduro. Make sure that you have atleast done every stage once before the race.
  9. I have not owned one. Have researched them extensively and consulted many users of them. I like camping. Especially remote camping. Weight is your biggest enemy on an overland vehicle. RTT adds 70kg at the worst possible location. This is my main gripe with them.
  10. The stated weight limit of 80kg is applicable when the car is moving. When parked that can be exceeded. If you want to add a rooftop tent then I would suggest using a proper roofrack with it. Send a query to Frontrunner and Eazi Awn. Thule load bars are for fishing rods and surfboards. The bar itself is strong but the load is not distributed as well as would be the case for a proper rack. Remember the (proper) rack you would want will also add around 30kg. Rooftop tents are not as great as they seem. Their main use IMO is for touring with many overnight stops (on flat ground).
  11. A dropper is indispensable for me. I would never own a mountainbike without one. To me it's a massive safety feature. And it makes it much easier to get on the bike after I have stopped...
  12. A. Hope is also significantly cheaper for me to buy easily. If both cost the same I would go for DT. I prefer the internals. I have also outgrown the Hope Bzzzzzz
  13. The post fire grasses and small shrubs have appeared, so it is much greener. MTO have cut many of the burnt trees so the firehut side is very exposed and susceptible to wind. The black trails are closed, the rest are open. Bad erosion in places due to heavy rains and no stabilizing vegetation.
  14. My Flow is also cracked. I plan to ride it till failure. DT Swiss here I come
  15. The SRAM chains are great. The chain and cassette should match IMO. You can swop around the other stuff.
  16. Jonkershoek is moertoe.
  17. All Minions do that. It's the price you pay for insane cornering grip. From my experience a set will last around 1500km of enthusiastic riding. That is R1.30 per km. Lol
  18. I have never ridden a tire with better braking performance than a DHR2
  19. Maybe a better question would be: Should I rather spend R2k for a set of Maxxis DHR2 or R1.4k for 2 Aquila's?
  20. If it doesn't have the compound stated it is probably the "Dual" compound that they typically spec for rear tires. The Max Grip only comes on DH and DD casing tires to my knowledge. There is no Maxx Speed DHR2 Minion.
  21. Love this lube! And it smells great. Lol
  22. Thanks. How do you rate them against Minions? I want to try the Aquila but my previous experience with the Onza Ibex was not pleasant. So I am weary of the brand.
