  1. Now you just need proper socks
  2. Backpedal braking > Tektro* *in my experience
  3. I also had the Tektro's on my Stumpy, they were the first things to be replaced. Had a set of Cura's in mind, but the sale fell through, replaced them with a set of SLX's eventually and couldn't be happier. They stop. That's all I need. They don't have much modulation, but I like the on/off feeling from them. Rode a Levo with Guide's on a demo day, they also felt a bit squishy for me to be honest.
  4. *cries on the inside*
  5. Is that all of them? I am can see all my riding buddies pics, but not mine?
  6. Thanks man! Went OTB on stage 1 and then had a chain slip after that, probably lost close to 80 seconds with those. I really enjoyed the rest and wish I knew the trail a bit better. Everyone was psyching me out with the "rock slab" on Cobra, still not sure where that is supposed to be:P Also looking at the WidowMaker after the fact, the chicken run there was pointless. Loved the event, will try and enter every Enduro for 2020. SideNote: Ek will ook 'n "TSEK" hempie he:)
  7. Did the Hoogekraal Enduro yesterday. What an experience! I think I have Enduro'd all the XC out of me. Had blast, such an awesome event and beautiful trails. Only down side was only 1 beer per rider, who does that
  8. I agree with popcorn_skollie, it is a very personal choice, lot of my friends kinda judge me, "Oh you lose so much power" yadda yadda whap whap I enjoy MY riding much more, I just need to be 10% fitter than the guy next to me on SPD's. That said, I bought a pair of 2FO shoes at Spez Stellenbosch and paired them with OneUp flat's, really happy with my choice
  9. I switched to flats a few months ago, I must say, I really enjoy my riding more now. But that is just my personality. I like struggling and learning new things I am even strongly considering on not putting my SPD's back on for W2W later this year.
  10. @CJ Van thanks for all the info. Will pack accordingly. Super amped for this and know that when that timer goes beep; I’m going to give it my all. We are about 10 guys coming through and 4 of us are new to Enduro races. Lekker
  11. Last stupid question, belowe. What should we bring to this event, nutrition wise? Are there water points etc? If there are water points, one bottle should be enough as it's not an all out race vibe?
  12. Some preparation for Sunday's Hoogies session.
  13. Hi everyone. Can't seem to find any more info on this event? What time should we be there, registration info etc? Enduro n00b
  14. super amped for this, will be my first enduro event.
  15. How many kms more or less? 30?
  16. Looking forward to sporting my new flannels at this one! Not sure how high my socks need to be though?
  17. Went to Jonkers and did Firehut and Armegeddon. What amazing trails. Took some new BikeHub faces along. Lekker
  18. My OneUps finally arrived... I think a grey/orange CSIXX mudguard is on the cards and then to start saving for that Fox36.
  19. First ride after BoneCrusher. Legs are still feeling it. Awesome ride though.
  20. iPhone 6 - Strava 81.56km 1903m Apple 3 Watch - Outdoor Cycle workout 80.27km 1654m Not sure why the big discrepancy, but I have seen my friends' Strava profiles for the race, all of us have different values. Race was great though, pity I bonked a bit after about 65km. Being sick the week before didn't help much. Also need to get a proper nutrition gameplan going. Eating a JungleOat peanut butter bar every hour doesn't cut it.
  21. Yeah its a pitty. My wife is picking up 4 numbers on Wednesday. We live in Helderberg and have to mission through to Tygervallei to get our numbers. Looking forward to the event though. DBX rarely disappoints
  22. ^^ This You can ask Nissan to bend your exhaust 45 degrees towards the road.
  23. Lekker Reme! Better late than never. Next shuttle day is on you ????
  24. Glad I read this post. Also wanted to do this event as an entry into the enduro side of things. Great that the EWC events are still an option for a newbie. Lekker.
