  1. I changed my 130mm RS to a 150mm Ribbon Coil on my ST Stumpy and to be honest, I do feel a difference when going up steep hills, but normal flat riding there isn't much difference. The difference you get going downhill is way more apparent than the struggle on the hills. I know the geo isn't the same on your Scott, but I would say go for it! The bike is meant to go down and not up in any case
  2. Finally had enough time...and legs, to make it to the top. Lockdown has made me super unfit. The trail up to EnduroRocks have been nicely groomed, and down even more.
  3. Oh how I have missed this view. I didn't go all the way to the top of Enduro Rocks, because of lunch time constraints The new section next to Mexican Border is awesome and the trails are in great shape! Looking forward to riding there again this weekend
  4. awesome photo as always... PS: HOW MANY HELMUTS DO YOU HAVE?!?
  5. hey! slow down there Grease_Monkey, what are you trying to say? *Looks at Stumpy in the garage....
  6. You wont be disappointed with that First Ascent purchase. I used a friend of mine's one for W2W last year, it was POURING with rain on the first day. I only had my cycling jersey and this jacket on. My phone was still working (it was in the waterproof chest pocket) and I was nice and warm throughout the ride.
  7. I have a pair of these, and they are about just at my knee level I would say. https://indola.co.za/shop/bottoms/baggies/thebusiness-enduro-mtb-baggy/
  8. Agreed, I need some dirt under my tires! Looking up at Helderberg each day, not being able to ride there is heart breaking
  9. Focus, that is awesome! I jogged with her this morning, plan is to cycle together once she is stable enough. That broom trick looks like it would do the job, definitely going to try it.
  10. Thanks, also just thought of Sportsmans and saw that one. Are 14" so scarce for a reason? I see mostly 12 and 16's?
  11. Hi there Hubbers So my almost 4 year started riding her bike without her training wheels (proud dad!) I wish I went the balance bike route, but any case. She is currently on a 16" El Cheapo from Makro. It is way to big for her. I want to get her a decent 14", but I can't seem to find them? I tried the classifieds, Takealot and CWCycles? Any other places I should be looking at? Thanks
  12. Cycling down beach road every morning really makes me lus for surf. And sitting in my house while the wind is nuking and I should be kiting is also not lekker. At least I still have work, so not complaining.
  13. pretty sure that is fake news, don't see anything on the official twitter feed?
  14. Jy moet spaar vir jou baba, nie flex nie
  15. Bought it from another Hubber
  16. This is probably not the right place, but it is a difficulty buying during lockdown...so here goes... I made a deposit for a kids bike for my 18month old, problem is I can't get a hold if it because of lockdown. Are courier companies allowed to go and fetch it for me on the level4 lockdown?
  17. Amped to get riding again, can at least get to Southies at a stretch. Just to clarify, do we need to wear a face mask while cycling as well? If we have to, a buff will probably be the best bet?
  18. Great idea. FNB mobile app allows you to scan to pay, so you don't need SnapScan or Zapper.
  19. That must be one of the nicest bikes I have EVER seen, she must be a pleasure to shred down the trails!
  20. Congrats Duane! I missed the part where we need to take 3 photos! Ai
  21. My trusty steed. Entry level 2019 ST Stumpy Everything is standard except: Fork: MRP Ribbon Coil, currently set at 150mm *insert amazeballs emoj here* Brakes: Formula Cura 2 pot Crank: Lyne Pulse Tyres: 2.6 Eliminator F, 2.3 Aggressor R Pedals: OneUp comps Grips: ECI Chunky
  22. Have to agree here. My StumpJumper came with Tektro brakes (who does that?!?) Anyways, upgraded to 2nd hand SLX, but the levers wore out and gave issues. I then went for another budget friendly option, 2pot Cura's. Been down Helderberg a couple of times with them and I really enjoy them!
  23. Grease_Monkey did you find my calling card on your bakkie? ???? I also went for a solo ride, bust my tyre through the rock garden just after full flow. Had to run the last bit back to the carpark, thank goodness for flats! And here I thought Eliminator's are bomb proof. A fat plug or two should do the job though.
  24. Hey yambanshee, no stress. If you would rather go the cheaper route, its all good. Buyers remorse sucks Let me know if you still want the SLX, but as I said, no hard feelings if you decide to go with the Deore.
  25. Looks lekker, still on my bucket list. Nice little burn there at the end from your wife/lady friend
