  1. I prefer to ride not knowing what is coming, otherwise I psych myself out before the big climb even begins
  2. There is a pretty decent route profile here https://wines2whales.com/event/route/#tab-id-1 Not sure about downloading the routes though
  3. @Dirt Tracker how do you rate the Eliminator up front? I am switching to a an 2.3 Aggressor R and want to fit either a 2.5 Assegai or a 2.6 Eliminator on the front. EDIT: Read your comments on the other tyre thread Eliminator it is.
  4. Haha ja the bike is ok, elbow not too bad, ego got the worst of it ????
  5. Today, my bike took me to...the doctor's rooms Went for a training ride and got served some humble pie on the tiniest of berms at Paul Cluver. Nothing a few stitches, antibiotics and a tetanus injection wont fix. Luckily my riding partner had a medikit with him.
  6. I buy my flannel shirts at Woolies. All the other stuff I get online. TrailTechCycles/Fox and many more. Spaz in Stellenbosch have a lot of Enduro stuff, but obviously brand specific
  7. Since everyone is posting riding with their kids Took my eldest up Helderberg yesterday, only made it to the platform before the wind took over, but she loved it. FYI her helmet is not that skew when we ride The extra 15kgs up the big climb was challenging
  8. Where did the sound come from? I also have one of those BB sounds and a 170 NX dub, is also on the cards.
  9. I can't help it if you have gorilla feet Versus are the most comfy socks I've ever had. And who doesn't want your daughter to buy socks with donuts on for your birthday...just leave the soap on the rope for grandpa
  10. Now you just need proper socks
  11. Backpedal braking > Tektro* *in my experience
  12. I also had the Tektro's on my Stumpy, they were the first things to be replaced. Had a set of Cura's in mind, but the sale fell through, replaced them with a set of SLX's eventually and couldn't be happier. They stop. That's all I need. They don't have much modulation, but I like the on/off feeling from them. Rode a Levo with Guide's on a demo day, they also felt a bit squishy for me to be honest.
  13. *cries on the inside*
  14. Is that all of them? I am can see all my riding buddies pics, but not mine?
  15. Thanks man! Went OTB on stage 1 and then had a chain slip after that, probably lost close to 80 seconds with those. I really enjoyed the rest and wish I knew the trail a bit better. Everyone was psyching me out with the "rock slab" on Cobra, still not sure where that is supposed to be:P Also looking at the WidowMaker after the fact, the chicken run there was pointless. Loved the event, will try and enter every Enduro for 2020. SideNote: Ek will ook 'n "TSEK" hempie he:)
  16. Did the Hoogekraal Enduro yesterday. What an experience! I think I have Enduro'd all the XC out of me. Had blast, such an awesome event and beautiful trails. Only down side was only 1 beer per rider, who does that
  17. I agree with popcorn_skollie, it is a very personal choice, lot of my friends kinda judge me, "Oh you lose so much power" yadda yadda whap whap I enjoy MY riding much more, I just need to be 10% fitter than the guy next to me on SPD's. That said, I bought a pair of 2FO shoes at Spez Stellenbosch and paired them with OneUp flat's, really happy with my choice
  18. I switched to flats a few months ago, I must say, I really enjoy my riding more now. But that is just my personality. I like struggling and learning new things I am even strongly considering on not putting my SPD's back on for W2W later this year.
  19. @CJ Van thanks for all the info. Will pack accordingly. Super amped for this and know that when that timer goes beep; I’m going to give it my all. We are about 10 guys coming through and 4 of us are new to Enduro races. Lekker
  20. Last stupid question, belowe. What should we bring to this event, nutrition wise? Are there water points etc? If there are water points, one bottle should be enough as it's not an all out race vibe?
  21. Some preparation for Sunday's Hoogies session.
  22. Hi everyone. Can't seem to find any more info on this event? What time should we be there, registration info etc? Enduro n00b
  23. super amped for this, will be my first enduro event.
  24. How many kms more or less? 30?
