  1. Min 40 Max 185 BP 120/75 (I am on natural hypertension medication though) Age 37 Always funny how I see my sleeping HR not dip as much after a few dops. Body working overtime to get rid of the crap
  2. yeah, but now both the main adult members need to achieve 50K points (or combined 100K) a year to get to Diamond...tough ask
  3. Got some fresh rubber after taking the XC stuf off after W2W 2.3 Aggressor R and 2.6 Eliminator F Can't wait to go and hit Helderberg / GSpot with these bad boys!
  4. I made some basic ones, I really enjoyed them and they seemed to work pretty good. Was long grain (risotto rice), 250gm plain Phillidelphia Cream Cheese and then I added some honey and crushed almonds. Wrap them in tinfoil and off you go. A friend of mine does the same but makes a salty version with fried rice and soya sauce.
  5. Nee dankie, flats are already screaming to be put back on.
  6. Have any of you guys with the Indola Enduro shorts experienced chaffing? During the W2W weekend I had terrible chaffing, as in proper skin gone eina kind of chaffing. The shorts/zip make a fold below your waist when you sit on your bike and that fold sits right, um, at the base of your gentleman. After a few long days in the saddle I couldn't take it anymore and rode with my normal bib for a day to get a break. Any advice to mitigate this?
  7. Maybe have a look at the Rapide 147 as a cheap alternative as well. I bought the Rapide 147 a few weeks before W2W, and I must say I am super impressed by the saddle and at <R400 it's a bargain as well.
  8. They made us start at 06:00 on Sunday (Day3 Chardonnay) for the semi-final, so I am sure they will move up the starting times for the final.
  9. It was awesome! Will definitely be doing this again. Great experience with amazing trails. Luckily us WCapers can ride most of these gems any day. Super well organized and seeding works really well so you never get stuck on single track etc. Maar nou gaan ons eers braai.
  10. DieselInDust, I should have listened to you...hindsight ne Totally destroyed both sets of brakes just after portage, had too walk the big downs with sharp turns at the end, last big downhill I got off the bike to run down and noticed I had 8 broken spokes!! Wheel trashed so ran the last 2kms. Still managed a 4:30 so I was happy. Was actually fun riding in that weather but the bikes took a massive beating. Today was good with lots of guys flying past with fresh legs as they didn't ride yesterday. A little broken, but last stretch tomorrow. First W2W, will be one for the books!
  11. Why is the rain so heavy on brake pads? Because of the mud on the rotors?
  12. Yip, someone will drop us off Friday morning and pick us up again. Will drive through ourselves Saturday/Sunday. @CJ Van: Ja nee, en in daai koue weer gaan daar anyways nie veel wees om te sien deur die skipant nie
  13. Um the car will be in Lourensford...car will be fine for day 2
  14. Can anyone do a bag drop on race morning? We are not sleeping in the tents, live close enough, so driving through each day. I was wondering if we can pack a bag with warm clothes for afterwards on day 1?
  15. Will be my first as well and I am contemplating wearing my wetsuit...
  16. I wanted to order one through my LBS, apparently they will be available from end November/ mid December. Don't hold me to it though
  17. Super amped, pity my first one wont be basking in the glorious sunshine, but nothing a base layer and a rain jacket can't fix.
  18. So far the weather looks GREAT for next weekend. Luckily this is Cape Town so it will probably still change at least 4 times before then.
  19. haha, I know, I have ridden Lourensford a few times, so at least I am prepared for that. Just going to wing the rest.
  20. I prefer to ride not knowing what is coming, otherwise I psych myself out before the big climb even begins
  21. There is a pretty decent route profile here https://wines2whales.com/event/route/#tab-id-1 Not sure about downloading the routes though
  22. holy smokes, that will definitely make you go faster!
  23. @Dirt Tracker how do you rate the Eliminator up front? I am switching to a an 2.3 Aggressor R and want to fit either a 2.5 Assegai or a 2.6 Eliminator on the front. EDIT: Read your comments on the other tyre thread Eliminator it is.
  24. Will be my first one as well, also Chardonnay. Training has been hampered by rear shock issues, bikeless for 2 weeks and then nasty fall on Tuesday. Still feel pretty strong and will get back onto the saddle tomorrow. Not racing to compete, just to enjoy, just need to convince my super fit partner of that last part ????
  25. I switched to M7000 SLX and could't be happier, cheap and lots of stopping power.
