  1. Man this blows! Any news on the rider? Is he ok?
  2. I had a processing for several days on my last order - can't explain why, but I wasn't in an insane rush and it still reached me before a local item sent via SAPO, which was despatched on the same day! Just be a bit patient - would be really surprised if there was an issue that saw you end up out of pocket.
  3. Tyerone the vinyl guy? Let us know. Will yap with Admin as well.
  4. Well - you certainly know how to grab a man's attention... And if it's alright with you, I'd love to hear this prior to the breaking of necks... Though, to be honest, I suspect I know where this is going to go... Joy.
  5. They appear to have dropped one of the courier companies as an option? Or am I losing my marbles? I seem to think they had both UPS and DHL, now only the latter? Anyone notice this?
  6. Merlin - be careful about this. Try a search, I popped up a similar question a while back about headset angles. Advice was that not only might it effect the ride, including BB height(!), but you must be confident that the increased stress from the rake/suspension, can be handled comfortably by your headset! Will look for it as soon as I'm in front of a pc again...
  7. Cool beans! Check out my gallery - have the original MTB Action review article up, and my "about me" section in my profile has a link to some recent photos!
  8. Thanks Hubbers - Mr. Brunson has pointed me in the direction of a LBS that should sort me out. If the problem remains unfixable, I'll be sure to pop up another SOS!
  9. Aha - yes - unfortunately my Ti-welding skills leave much to be desired, so whereas the would be an option up front, not so much at the back!
  10. +1
  11. Thanks Chris - but no worries, I'll see what I can get sorted first. Also - only work in the Bos, live in Paarl - where incidentally I'll be attending my own funeral mid-way through the 45km'er on Paarl Mountain on Sunday morning! Will try the 2 LBS's - and will then see what my options are.
  12. Much obliged S@B! I'll have a chat with Eddie first, and see what can happen this side. Will need both front and back - but just want to check on sizing etc. Will be in touch if I'm sunk!
  13. Thanks Mr. Brunson! Will buzz Eddie, and might need to press on your number if push comes to shove!
  14. Mampara - front and rear... Googled that they have different sizes - but didn't realise they were different depending on front or back - assumed it was frame specific and that all four would be the same size? Eish. Thanks - guess I'll be removing them and having a look...
  15. Notwithstanding the usual "didn't know people still used v-brakes" commentary - anyone know where I would be able to source 2 pairs of v-brake bosses? For those of you who might have forgotten ( ) - they look something like this... They are the adapters that screw into the frame/fork's v-brake slots, and are what the v-brakes themselves are bolted onto... It suddenly occurred to me that whereas I will no doubt upgrade to discs in the coming year - until such time, I'd need to have both my frames running on v's. I therefore need 4 bosses to avoid having to swop out my current 4 between the frames... If anyone knows of a old-skool LBS that might stock them, please shout. Otherwise I'll probably need to pop up a Wanted ad, since presumably, there must be a few lying around in garages still?? Fanks!
  16. Some say Ti flexes too much.
  17. Uh - ja - should've made that clear! Middle blade in front - XT crank, so that's a 32/34? Trying to get a sense of what the SS will run like on my usual routes.
  18. Hence this thread...
  19. Hmmm - those could work. Fanks. As would these... Would match my saddle.
  20. That's a pretty apt description!
  21. Insane! Best you put up many, many (decent!! ) pics soonish!
  22. MT - she's a beaut! What handlebar are you running with?
  23. MORE!!!!! I sort of regret not being able to paint my frame... Though - might be good enough reason to invest in a steel steed
  24. Did a road loop this afternoon... Had the Garmin on - middle blade up front (32t) and 17t(?) at the back - which is as close as I can get to what will be my most likely SS combo... Well now... Think fat man and a blur where his feet/pedals are Max speed I could get up to, cranking/pedalling, was about 30km/h... couldn't comfortably pedal any faster! Which is going to take some getting used to... Now bearing in mind that worrying about stuff like this, is rather anti- the whole SS thing, but still had me wondering: What's a respectable/high-ish speed to be reached on a SS, whilst pedalling? Many have said that you get used to pedalling faster - but surely there's a limit? Where the rest of you at - anyone measured?
