NEW adverts should go into the NEW Classifieds section only, as I understand it... The old section will thereby die gracefully, over the next few weeks/months... At a later stage, the mods might be tasked with moving things over - alternatively, as the new site picks up - it would make sense for current ad owners to pop up a note in the old ad, explaining that they've moved/placed a copy up in the new section...

FML... Group CRC order went a bit south through no-one's fault. Looked last night at getting an order together - [XTC1, haven't forgotten you, will keep you in the loop] - seatpost is out of stock until 23 March...

Aw shoot... Came across one review of them which recounted a hairline fracture from nipple 'eye' to eye - which might be related to what you're talking about... As for the Stans - I would be keen, but the problem is sourcing them... AFAIK, hardly anyone brings v-brake rims into the country now, which sees me relying on CRC etc... Was always going to chat with JB before placing the order, and will raise your point. Thanks!

Thanks Splat - I'm more interested in strength than weight in any event - want something that will last, and it's not as if I can't afford to lose a few kilo's, rather than imposing that duty on my rims! JB has given input - albeit not specifically on whether to take 719s or 819s.

Ok... I've googled - and am now beginning to recall the arguments for and against, and the various options regarding the use of non-ust tyres on ust rims... Which probably means that my 'limited-options' question is partly answered... Which also probably means I'll be putting in the order for the 819s soonish - unless someone rattles this thread during the course of the next few days...

Thanks GB - why though? Are UST tyre choices limited?

I'm tubeless now - and agree - will never go back! All I'm trying to figure out, is if I go with the UST option on a rim - am I bound to only using UST tyres - and if so, is this more of a limitation/cost issue than it's worth?

Hello All, Looking at JB building me some wheels... Long story - but rims must be v-brake compatible. Mavic still have v-brakes rims on CRC, hence the question: The 819s are slightly more expensive - and are UST compatible/ready. The 719s are not... I've always made use of rimstrips for a conversion - so never really bothered checking out the advantages of UST... What are your thoughts? Remember reading somewhere that if you go with UST, you're limited to UST tyre choices, which are more limited(?) and pricier(?)... Anyone have a good reason why I should favour the 819s over the 719s? Many thanks!

Cool beans C - I'm no downhiller though, so missed that... VCA = ?? I've seen a few of the town downhill courses on the tube before - there's one in Portugal/Spain(??) that I've seen before - but this one appears to be far more, shall we say, relaxed? Or are most of them like this? Dogs wondering around - thin line of emergency tape tied up to cars/potplants/streetlamps etc?...
