  1. Thanks

I found them on the net

    Looking for a bikeshop actually

I can buy online offshore but I want to compare local

I'm going to trawl Ebay for a while and see what pops up

Online dealers to look at for vintage Colnagos are Steel Vintage, Premium Cycling and Beppe Raggi (facebook). Some deals at times on Colnago Owners facebook group as well. For new Master's, Arabesque or 2019 models look at Maestro's in UK. Stockists internationally are Bikebug (AUS), Bike24 (GER), Merlincycles.

  2. Problem with the Instinct is no power meter recording function.

For the same price is the Garmin 735XT and will do for most people as a multi-function sports watch unless you need the extra battery life for a full Ironman, Comrades or some of the ultra trail runs like Sky Run, then I would consider the 935XT of Fenix 5.

I agree that the Fenix 5 plus seems over priced as much as I would like to upgrade my Fenix 5 to the plus.

The titanium 5 plus seems like good option. I suppose the pulse oximetry on 5X is something only high altitude climbers would use. Best price for 5X and ti plus is Cape Union Mart at 14k currently and you get ebucks.

  3. I hesitated on buying the previous Fenix 5X from takealot for 8500 amd now its sold out. The new 5 plus series is overpriced. I am most likely gna buy the new Garmin Instinct. Military standard, shockproof, rugged, 14days in smartwatch mode, 18hrs in gps mode. Punted as an older Fenix 5X in polycarbonate case. No music or Garmin pay though. Price is basically 6200 at all retailers.

Good reviews from DC Rainmaker, Desfit and Rizknows.

  5. Good day,

A rather awkward fall with my bike resulted in one of the bottle cage mounting holes to break.

Basically the threading came out and cant be put back. The frame itself is carbon and there is no other damage like cracks so the frame is good.

I dont want to do a carbon repair as it would take a while a cost a few bucks. Is there a way to mount the cage again by plugging the hole in a way that would make the cage sit stable when removing and placing a bottle. I am not sure what could sit or stick well with carbon without looking ugly?

    Thank you.

Is the carbon damaged at all? Downtube or seat tube? You might consider a seatpost mounted bottle then.

  6. I really like the Live Segment feature, can turn a boring solo ride into an exciting chase.

    Other than that nothing really.

Take a trial period membership and decide for yourself

If you have a Garmin and you just looking to improve your segments then use Live Segments on Garmin if your devic supports it.

  7. Saturday, 8 December, friend of mine survived an attempted bikejacking just before 6am in Albert Road near Gympie street, Woodstock. He was riding alone and guy lunged at him but he was able to avoid him and sprinted away. Will get more details and post later. Be careful out there.

Seems the perp was not alone as there were more guys waiting in side street out of sight. Initially he saw one guy which made it inconspicuous at the time.
