  1. Any further news on the arrival date Shamus?
  2. Distance depends where the actual start/finish line will be relevant to the Circus entrance.
  3. I get about 105Km on Garmin Connect (create course).
  4. Makes sense about the distance as it's the same roads used without the extra bit before/after the dirt road (5Km each way). Just riding the second half of the route in reverse, by the looks of the map.
  5. Would be nice if they can somehow find out and enter a team - for old time's sake.
  6. mentioned here
  7. 503 entries... In all the years I have been involved with the competition (2008), I never thought I'd be around to see this many Hubbers taking part, and to think it was originally started by two other hubbers (Nochain and Man with No Name). Thank you guys - it's a humbling experience to be a part of this.
  8. The latest update (version 3) on the scoring/rules is available to download/view. Tour de France Fantasy Competition v3.pdf
  9. I picked a Frenchman without even thinking about it - only because of the profile, Bastille day and possible KOM points.
  10. Me too, but for certain events through the year, I have her blessing to spend extended days on the bike. I think Spinnekop once said: "A happy wife is a happy cyclist"
  11. - Thanks for the heads-up. It is/was supposed to be the first French rider across the line, as it is Bastille Day on stage 10. Given that many people have already submitted their teams, I think we'll leave it as is on the Team Selection page... STAGE WINNER. I'll amend the statement in the PDF doc. edit: It should read, the first picked rider/team across the line, not necessarily the stage winner. In the event that the stage winner was not picked, we move down the stage results until we get to the first PICKED winner.
  12. So pedal faster... [emoji1] [emoji1]
  13. Our club ride last week Saturday, with that hectic (WP) wind that howled, we had 7 on our early bird ride. When we got back to the meeting point for the club ride - no one was there. Seems the cold is not the only thing that keeps the fair weather riders away.
  14. Results from the 2009 Tour, where Cancellara held onto yellow for the first 6 stages after winning the ITT (15Km) in Monaco. http://www.procyclingstats.com/race/Tour_de_France_2009-stages
  15. Only if you're racing for position or time Otherwise make it a lekker LSD ride...
  16. The sprinters WILL lose time to the ITT specialists on stage 1 - and to get it back over the first week, where 10-6-4 bonus seconds are available for the first three places, they need to win just about every stage. Not impossible, and every second counts. The first week will suit the breakaway specialists looking to get into yellow - question is... who will be in the break and will it succeed?
  17. 03:30 Okay, 04:30 is not too far off. I find it's actually "warmer" before the sun rises, then its a few degrees Celsius colder. We have about 5-8 riders on our early bird rides (32-34Km) on weekends before the main club ride - gives the faster/dedicated guys a chance to get some quality in before mixing with the club.
  18. Aren't those routes you posted for the Dome2Dome?
  19. Dimension Data completes big data analytics and digital delivery platform for Tour de France Dimension Data set to deliver big data cycling analytics platform for the first time in the history of professional cycling Sound's exciting - read more... http://www.letour.fr/le-tour/2015/us/pre-race/news/ahc/dimension-data-completes-big-data-analytics-and-digital-delivery-platform-for-tour-de-france.html
  20. Official start list showing on the Tour's website, with reserve riders in case one of the riders pulls out before the start on Saturday. http://www.letour.fr/le-tour/2015/us/riders.html
  21. As of yesterday they hadn't published the rout, so it's difficult to know where we're riding.
  22. IMO, I don't think there's enough parking for the number of moaning roadies, but with a huge veld next door there shouldn't be a problem. It's 30km from home for me, which is double the distance compared to the Rand Water venue. But I'm still riding there from home - good training (170km) for our club "Tour to Durban" in October. Edit: spelling
  23. New route and start venue for the Race for Victory. No more dirt road. Now starts at the Circus.
