    Ryan Cox

When I heard the SMS arrive this morning, I knew it would be the bearer of sad, sad news... :-( My heart goes out to Karen, Tammy and the Cox Family. May the Lord be with you during your time of loss & sadness Rest in peace Ryan...
  7. Passport stamps in Europe, or lack thereof does not prove anything. Spent 6 months in Europe traveling through 8 countries and only have two passport control stamps to prove anything!!!
  8. Cofidis, the team Sponsor, requested that the team withdraw from the tour
  9. He is the outright leader of the Mountains Competition, so will be wearing that Jersey for sure. Also think that Mountains Competition is higher priority than Best Young Rider
  10. Rasmussen was not dismissed by Rabobank because of the failing to give his whereabouts to the UCI in time or because of the consequent missed out of competition tests. <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Rasmussen was fired for Lying about his whereabouts during June. Rabobank was actually backing and supporting Rasmussen on the missing information and warnings from UCI and Danish federation issue. Rabobank only found out Yesterday (Wednesday) that Rasmussen had in fact lied to the UCI and them about being in Mexico when former professional Davide Cassani, now a commentator for Italian TV station RAI, made a statement to Danish TV on Wednesday in which he claimed to have seen the Rabobank leader training in the Italian Dolomites on June 13 and 14. When Rasmussen was confronted with this information he confirmed to team manager Theo de Rooy that he had indeed lied about his whereabouts and confirmed that he was in <?:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Italyon> at that time. That was the reason De Rooy and the Rabobank Board decided to pull him out of the Tour and dismiss him from the team.
  11. Me!! Me!! (PhotoFairy asked the same thing earlier) Unfortunatley I'm in Standerton at my son's Bonde Dag Rugby Tournament... I think PhotoFairy will be going to Northern Farm on Saturday...
  12. Maybe the blood is from the Medium Rare Steak that he had the previous night!!! Why do they always think that the rest of the world will believe their pathetic stories of how they did not dope when caught???
  13. From SuperCycling website... Astana team manager Marc Biver said he had confidence in the blood doping test which has snared his star rider Alexandre Vinokourov and caused a scandal at the Tour de France. Biver was speaking only hours after being told that 33-year-old team leader Vinokorov, the winner of two stages on this year's race, had tested positive for homologous blood doping. If a test on his 'B' sample also tests positive, it means that Vinokourov has injected red blood cells from a compatible donor to enhance his performance. "We can't condemn Alexandre until we know there has been a clear doping violation, and we have to wait for the result of the 'B' sample," said Biver. "But for us, if his 'A' sample tested positive then he is guilty until the 'B' sample proves otherwise." Biver said he had spoken with Vinkourov after hearing the bad news from a race official. "He (Vinokourov) said he couldn't understand how it could have happened. He believes it is the result of his crash. "But the test used was validated by WADA (World Anti Doping Agency), and so the test is credible." he added: "It is obvious that it (the test) is impossible to manipulate."

Oh... Maybe I won't be as willing to help the Uys brothers from Colorpress in case of need though... Being referred to as "those c$nts" does unfortunately not endear you to sympathy and willingness from "those c$nts" to go the extra mile when things go wrong
  17. MWNN, the 37 seconds in the Young Riders Competition was only for Yesterday's Stage Overall Soler is quite a bit away from Contador at 09:08 But as another bonus Kanstantin Siutsou from Barloworld is third in the Best young rider competition (albeit 20 mins down) So Barloworld has 2nd & 3rd in Best Young Rider competition

Pedal, It's a pleasure, glad that I could have helped Jr... Sorry that my guys weren't quicker so that I could have helped a little sooner... hopefully Next time we will be closer... I will always help and assist if possible, even a competitor, as to me, it's about the participation and camaraderie rather than the end result. It's always nice if the end result is good (like the 2nd place in the HillClimb) but at the end, for me, it's more about enjoying the riding and building friendships... Yep, I know, it's not always the smartest thing to do, but that is how it is...
  19. Brilliant Race Report cat-i!!!!
  20. I don't like him or his attitude... seems neither does his country!!!
  21. That's one of the big things that the ASO has against the current Protour rules, you get a Protour license for 4 years and do not have to perform to keep the license, and it guarantees you entry to all Protour races. So if all Protour teams have a four year license and none quit or go bang, no new teams can get entry to the Protour, there is no relegation or advancement from Continental Team status

  23. Welll.... I DO own one exactly like the ones they are using... ...well actually not exactly like one... it used to be a Barloworld Bike!!!! http://www.tcsn.co.za/downloads/Sys6Bora.jpg
  24. Was a bit surprised that Popovich got the nod for most aggressive rider for the day!!!! I would have thought that Soler would be the most aggressive rider on the day??? He broke away with Popovich in the beginning, and then fell back to attack them from more than 2 minutes out and leave them for dead as well as holding off a hard chasing pack to the end for his most impressive win!!! Or am I too biased on this one??
  25. Ahhhh!!!!.... Initially when I checked, I saw that Soler was listed as being 2nd in the Young Riders Competition, then just after 18:00 Gummy posted that he was 3rd, I wanted to refute that and I double checked, and sure enough, now he was listed as being 3rd... I could not understand... Now it seems he received a 20 second penalty for a disallowed feed in the last 11 km's... Damnn... Corti should have known better!!!!
