At least he's actually entering races in writing now. Maybe he's still getting fit after the winter and wanted an easy race or two before racing Elites again... Or, maybe he's finally conceded that he is actually old enough to race vets. Should spice up the Vets Super Series in 09 if that is the case...

Thanks mallo. Wasn't aware of that rule. I usually enter all races late but normally get grouped where my seeding says I should be. At the moment, that would be in ZZZ... TNT1, two things: 1. Was OB wearing a helmet? 2. Why is he suddenly racing vets when he can still kick the arses of most Elites? He's not 45 yet is he?

Haven't done a race in a while, what's in the goodie bags that's so important these days?

We're actually very lucky to have The Spruit right here in the middle of biggest, busiest city in southern Africa! My wife and I have been riding it mid-mornings lately and it has been really pleasant. This morning we encountered a group of 12 women and one guy, who are part of a crowd that ride The Spruit twice a week. Great to see! So go ride it, Zoo Cookie. It's worthwhile (but just don't ride alone).

Thule isn't the leader in bike racks for nothing. They make superb quality racks for every need. I highly recommend them.

Durban Surf Lifesaving Club (far left of pic) is still there, but the rest has changed significantly. I vaguely remember this roadhouse from when I was a kid. Might have been a different one further south or north though as I was a born in 1970.

Is this just a long road race entry-count or all associated events? Amashova had over 4000 in the long road race last year if I remember correctly.
