  1. Some advice required from the techies out there. I have a Raceface EvolveXC crank of which I am missing the self extracting crank cap (for want of a better name). Now I cannot get my cranks off. Tried to use FSA road crank cap but it does not fit. Any ideas or tools out there that will do the trick?
  2. Rode a Viner 26 years ago, didn't know they still existed, and Bridgestone that is also one from my history books. Mega cool pics by the way, thanks!!
  3. Takes the term 'Riding your bike' to new levels. I wonder if he was using Epic Lube or just plain old 3-in-1 on his bike
  4. That bike would like infinitely more appealing at night with the lights off
  5. Thanks goodness they found it. Where did they loose it?
  6. Apart from the cat's eyes, did you happen to notice any other cat body parts in the road that we may have to look out for?
  7. What I really hate is people who use the word hate
  8. Mmmmm, black bike, all black cycling clothing, u sure it was not one of your buddies Satan as I heard his excuse was "Satan made me do it!!"
  9. Viva vigilantism and kangaroo court justice, the foundation of the justice system in <?:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Africa and apparently the Hub as well. <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
  10. Cool MTB shoes, are they clipless?
  11. I firmly believe that all pro cyclists dope. Half the top pro's have been busted this year, the other half have just been lucky enough not to be caught. Pereiro is not innocent, there is no way he could come second to a doped up pro and beat a peleton of doped up pro's just by taking Energade and the occasional multivitamin.
  12. Your race intensity is probably much higher than your training intensity and your muscles are cramping due to fatigue. You might cope if you race enough otherwise up your training intensity.
  13. To beat a cold you need to know how big it is in order to gauge what size stick you need to beat it with!! No seriously, are you getting enough carbs in your diet? If you are trying to loose weight and train hard on a low carb diet during winter then you are gonna get sick all the time. If you add having kids at nursery school to the equation then you can just forget being healthy for any period of time longer than a month!!
  14. Delgado, it is not a matter of principle, I think you are just selfish and self-centered and are only interested in what you can get out of cycling and could not be bothered putting something back. Cycling clubs promote cycling, without them what infrastucture would there be to support cycling in SA? Who do you think organizes all these fantastic races that you want to ride? Anybody who thinks the D2D was a success can thank Cresta Wheelers whose members put something back into a sport they get so much out of!! If you want to race, abide by the rules or go race by yourself (you might even win )
  15. Obermayers are by far the best wheelset to buy. Zipps just not as good, Bora's are worst, even my Eastons make Bora's look stupid. Check out this link for proof: http://www.rouesartisanales.com/categorie-94458.html
  16. You guys are making it a difficult choice for me. I currently ride a carbon frame with carbon deep section wheels and tubbies and Eish, it is a harsh ride. Sounds like Ti will be a little more forgiving. I weigh 70kg and ride a small frame, and I want a good climbing bike. So would flex be such an issue on a Ti for me?
  17. Looking to buy a new frame and need some advice or opinions to help me decide. Basically, what is best, Carbon or Titanium? A mate of mine says Titanium as it is bullet proof, whereas Carbon is the in thing but can be damaged much easier. Titanium not very pretty while Carbon is beautiful. So, it has come down to two frames basically, a Scott Addict or a Litespeed Ghisallo. What is you opinion or experience?
  18. Whats the difference between a cyclist that dopes and a cyclist that doesn't? The one that doesn't dope just hasn't been caught yet.
  19. Anybody out there been nuts enough to want to balance their wheels like you do with car wheels? My wheels vibrate quite annoyingly at higher speeds and wonder if other people have solved the same problem. And no, the wheel is not buckled, bent, warped or damaged, it is the valve and valve extention causing the imbalance. Temporary fix, but not enough weight, is to put an old Cateye magnet at the other end of the wheel. Any ideas?
  20. yeah, velo, did the same thing as you and realized you won't get them at any old hardware shop, you need a specialist tool shop, dunno if you have one in the cape though.
  21. U can get a torque wrench that measures 0-25 Nm from The Tool Shop in Strydom Park. Got mine there for R1200. Sounds expensive but it is a lot cheaper than cracked carbon stems, bars, seat posts etc. If you are working on a carbon bike yourself, you need the right tools!!!
  22. Pity they don't publish how many watts it takes to bend these cranks!! I seriously doubt mere mortals like hubbers could ever generate enough watts to have to worry about the stiffness of the crank. Get the FSA's and worry more about bending your frame, wheels and handlebars!! Oh, and the Zipps are gorgeous if you wanna blow megabucks.
  23. Has anyone ever managed to secure one of Chris Willemse specials on groutsets, wheels and equipment? No? Not surprised, massive FALSE advertising in my opinion. Virtual shopping from a virtual store for stock that virtually never existed!!
