  2. This Port Elizabeth Critical Mass FB page was created on Monday and is gaining momentum now on 109 likes - go see and like. http://www.facebook....SaveOurCyclists
  3. Mr Andre Gouws has been released on R5000 bail. Back in court on 7 December 2012.
  4. Last year on 16 December near The Willows P.E. at +- 8am the occupant of an oncoming vehicle deliberately smashed a bottle on the road in front of me and sprayed me with glass. Took me a whole month to tempt going on the tar again... Ps Mr Andre Gouws got his bail application postponed to tomorrow.
  5. I like the idea! - Maybe get the guys from Pedalpower involved and create some awareness about the 1.5m rule? - I love our little town, but there are still far too many motorists here that believe the roads are solely for the use of motorists, let alone know that they have to overtake us with a minimum legal distance of 1.5m!
  6. Many of the major cities around SA now have very popular "public servant news networks" FB pages where fans, amongs other things, make posts about where roadblocks are to warn fellow drunk drivers to avoid. Shockingly it seems this behaviour of helping criminals and potential murderers is legal !?
  7. The driver, Mr Andre Gouws (26) now faces a MURDER charge !!! http://www.algoafm.co.za/article.aspx?id=3715
  8. Bet you the pic will be taken off soon due to his numberplate showing, but I spoke to the guy myself and he was completely drunk. May he get what is due to him...
  9. I had words with the driver just past 8am this morning here in Seaview where he was arrested, drunk out of his skull, almost 20km from where he killed the cyclist and ran. All I can say is that I hope justice will be served and that he gets found guilty of murder, and serves his 25 years... Very sad- The picture tells all.
  10. Just a lekker fun vid & tune ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bZkp7q19f0
  11. Keep an eye on this website for sporting activities in St Francis. There are a few coming up in December http://www.stfrancis...sport-calendar/ Their FB page is http://www.facebook....122164371152458
  12. Hang in there, not too long from now the next craze will be here: The 26" Just like lumo colors & bootleg jeans the 26er will go retro and be cool again... Bottom line, if it has wheels let it roll.
  13. Mine is 28.1 so I am just out of the "Obese" range and am now in the top end of "Overweight" I think NOT
  14. We made it in 15:04 hrs The entire ride was one incredible experience that I will remember as one of my best adventures! The road up neverender was the deepest I have yet to dig to stay motivated and to carry on, and seeing J-bay lights after that last climb past the ruins almost had me emotional! I recon this event is definitely one of those must do "right of passage" trips for mountainbikers.
  15. Alles van die beste aan al die 2012 TRANSBOBBEJANE !!! Ons gaan n great time he - ons kon nie vir beter weer gevra het nie. Sien julle vanaand in Willowmore! .
  16. 2012 Smitskraal crossing, Baviaanskloof ????
  17. Slightly modified route profile this year.....
  18. Video footage of the flooded Seaview road taken 3 days ago... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TGlOzcsPTM
  19. Hierdie is n quote van hulle website: Route Recce 4 August 2012: Plenty of speculation is doing the rounds on which route the ASG Trans Baviaans will follow this year. Well, after visiting the Baviaanskloof this past weekend we can now officially declare the following: The route through the Baviaanskloof is perfect. Deepest river crossing is just below knee high and if the Willowmore/Joubertina area does not receive 80mm or more rainfall in a single incident (24 hour period) then the river levels will not be affected. In summary, the 2012 ASG Trans Baviaans will follow the original route through the Baviaanskloof. The finish venue in Jeffreys Bay has moved to the Jeffreys Bay Primary school sports grounds as Kabeljouws Holiday Resort has closed down. See you there!! Ek twyfel sterk dat daar meer as 80mm in die kloof binne 24hrs geval het. Hier in Seaview het dit maar 25mm die hele naweek gereen. Vasbyt - Min dae!
  20. Same here, remember Google and youtube are our friends.
  21. Although this is a coil spring fork I am interested in buying one and wondering what kind of reviews there are out there. How do you rate it?
  22. One thing is for sure, we are certainly packing a few extra pairs of socks! Blue frozen toes are definitely no fun!
  23. Received my online order yesterday and used the M232 Monkeylight wheel lights last night for 1st time. One thing is for sure - there is absolutely no chance any motorist will ever be able to say "I did't see you" You actually notice the cars slow down with drivers rubbernecking to see what it is! These are not Chinese copies, but the original Monkeylights designed and manufactured in USA. You want to be visible at night? - You cannot be missed with these. I bought them here: http://store.monkeylectric.com http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLtbeU8FJW0&list=PLBEE34BBB2E1A82B0&feature=plcp
