  1. Using Cytomax Tropical Fruit already. If we were to run out of it, and it was available at the race, we would probably buy it.
  2. A needle and thread has been known to help against sagging straps. Or get a new strap, which might be easier and less painful.
  3. Easiest solution would be to get a Nokia. Almost any Nokia has a built in GPS these days. Alternatively, you can always go the Garmin route, and get an Edge 500/305/705 That will allow you to download the routes you have already ridden onto you PC, and the file can then be exported to Training Centre, Mapsource, Google Maps or any other mapset you wish to use that is capable of receiving .gpx files. You can also plan routes on Mapsource, import them to Training Centre, and from there send the route to your Edge, and you can ride the route you created.
  4. Diodora MTB - about 5 years (got them as hand-me-downs) Specialized MTB Pro (1 year)
  5. Only a VERY small portion of riders actually log on to this forum. What about the other thousands of riders that don't log in here? To effectively control the resale of stolen bikes you would need a system much the same as the one used for motor vehicles. All bikes, with their serial numbers, would have to be entered onto a central database, and each transaction would need to be updated on the system in realtime. Unfortunately we all know that the updating of vehicle registration particulars is not very effective. There are numerous loopholes in the system. Vehicles are also still being stolen daily. To set up a database would not be too difficult. All that would be needed was a sufficient number of people to actually capture the data, and a method for sending the data through to the database. For that one would need resources, manpower and funding. Hubbers can easily set up a database like that. One person could set up the database, and all the necessary information could be captured on a spreadsheet. Data updates could be sent through via email, and any queries regarding bikes could be made in the same manner. It may take a few days to capture all the data, but once that was done, it would be fairly easy to keep the system updated.
  6. You can export the routes from Training Centre to Mapsource. To do that you need to save the route as a .gpx file, and then import into Mapsource.
  7. I used to cramp very badly when using Prexum Plus. They also caused me to cough myself awake at night. My doctor switched my meds to Atracand Plus. No coughing and no cramps. Let him visit his doc, and see what they say.
  8. Bosal have brought out a 2-bike rack that seems very good. It is also substantially cheaper than Thule racks. It folds up when not in use, and goes for around R2800-00 if I remember correctly.
  9. Depending on where you are located. Kevin Bolton in Centurion has the best prices by far in my opinion. I have bought quite a few GPS devices from him, and his prices beat anybody any day.
  10. Depending on where you are situated. Kevin Bolton associates / GPS Specialist in Centurion has extremely good pricing as well.
  11. I heard today that Mervyn Dinkelman Cycles have closed their doors. It seems the economic recession caught up with them. It is sad to see a once blooming business close down. With OB gone over to Grant Cycles I suppose that will now be our biking shop of choice.
  12. Also been using the Edge 500 for about a month now. I also lost some data when switching off and on, and then resetting. That has not happened since we did the latest firmware update, as the unit seems to store the data to memory if it is accidentally turned off. Being the first time we are using a HR Monitor and Cadence sensor, it sometimes feels a bit overwhelming with all the data that the unit records and stores. If there is someone in the Centurion area that can help with sorting out the data and showing us what everything actually means, I will appreciate it.
