  1. Hey rello why don'y you have this: http://www.geocities.com/louwlife2000/asbannerraces.jpg on your postings? Are you distancing yourself from your teammates or what?racman2008-07-11 03:54:10
  2. I also ride Vista SL's and am a heavy rider as well - excellent wheels !!!!
  3. The Easton Vista SL's are excellent wheels and a bit below the budget you stipulated
  4. Hey haven't you taken note of my self portrait AVATAR. The only reason why I can do it at that speed (still about 20minutes slower than FanD) is that when people see me they: 1) Hide their children 2) swerve off the road to let me pass 3) Call the traffic dept and ask them to change all the robots to green so that I don't spend too long at one place etc, etc I have even stopped riding with the local group early in the mornings because it's too dangerous. When I join the group everyone switches OFF their lights to avoid looking at me !!! That's why I like the IDT so much - it can't see !!!racman2008-07-11 03:10:51
  5. Shorter - it takes me 1h10 from Lord Charles intersection to Stellenbosch and back !!!! (although it depends where you are coming from in STel)
  6. No, No JB - that is a photo of how I would LIKE to look. I have now changed it to show my self portrait of how I ACTUALLY look !!!!!
  7. This has probably been asked before but what are the best value lights at the moment for early morning rides in a group ?
  8. Anyway, BMC Fan, you know I'm way tooo slooooooowwwww for your rides so there is no point even attempting them
  9. Relax BMC Fan - even a bunch of old grannies need to talk a lot before they actually do anything. It helps with the preparation and motivation !!!
  10. I will get up early, make a cup of coffee, put on something warm and .... walk out onto my patio to see how many hubbers will be shivering in the dark while waiting for the famous hub ride. I may even feel a little guilty as I go back inside to my warm bed after making another cup of hot coffee !!!
  11. PANZIE Meskien net slim !!!
  12. well you certainly scared me off ...... AGAIN !!!!
  13. I ceratinly get fatigued trying to figure out how I'm going to upgrade to a carbon bike, but my question is more on the actual carbon fatigue. If I don't get a decent answer soon, I'm going to have to personally invite JB to join the discussion. (Now if I could only persuade BigH to also contribute on one of his "from time to time" farewell visits, we might eventually get an answer AND entertainment !!!)
  14. that helps
  15. Ok, before I get flamed let me just say that I couldn't find a definitive answer amongst the Carbon vs Titanium thread. The question is: Is fatigue a problem with older Carbon frames. Some say they don't fatigue and age (of the frame that is) is not a problem, while others say the opposite. Which is correct? Short answers please (that means without without the hijacks and insults)racman2008-07-09 05:07:32
  16. Maybe that's why he sprinted so well - was tired of hearing comments about his "dorky" glasses for 200km !!!
  17. H-"on" It's very hush-hush but the info I have is that there it is a small little shop that is for sale - Prestige cycles I think - low budget bicycles. I also heard that there may well be a "divorce" of partners involved; one of which will open the other shop. However, this is only hearsay and may have no substance at all H-"off"
  18. looks real "dorky" But hey, with a stage win who cares what it looks like
  19. Ok so the ride hasn't even started yet and we have a split in the peleton!!
  20. Why are you scared - you are a member of the famous ASAP Strandloper league team!!
  21. No, No, No - don't put my name up. I have no desire to ride solo for 135km after being dropped by all you speedsters and TdF wannabe's !!! (unless of course I can join you on my 996)
  22. Can't be bothered to read all 9 pages BMC Fan, so tell me what avg speed you aiming for etc. (may still surprise you someday and actually turn up on one of these Hub rides)
  23. Thx Ronelle - brightened up my day (hibernating in front of the TV under a duvet watching the TdF so good to know that there were others "suffering" in the cold as well).
