  1. Waterstone is far better than Helderberg Cycles as it is quick and easy to get onto the N2 end. (of course only about 350m from my house, but that is totally irrelevant)
  2. For those who don't know: Stage 1 on SS7 @ 13h35
  3. would have been even slower without the Zipp front wheel though !!

  5. The distance from Waterstone Village is 130km so probably about 127 from Helderberg Cycles.
  6. Ok, You can put me down for the slow ride, with wife and possibly one other. (Just realised it's the wife's birthday on the 23rd March so I better make sure I come down that weekend, otherwise.....)racman2009-01-29 00:24:20
  7. Cool, if you make it on a different weekend, I may get to ride the CT and Gauteng hub ride
  8. If I am in CT that weekend, my wife and I will ride (Iwill try and actually show up this time BMC Fan, but then again being incognito has it's advantages as well mmmm....)
  9. Ok, I'll do it in his place for R50,000. Who do I speak to to make the arrangements!!
  10. As a result of them the Waterworks road has been closed to cyclists, the last I heard.

    WIFE

  12. wife was blown over (no serious injury) by a sudden gust of wind while riding along Gordons Bay/Rooi Els route a few weeks back!!
  13. I see you have not contested my opinion HR !!
  14. I think the Ultimate has to be Colonel. (BigH used to be but has been tamed, and is now more a "Moaner" - sorry BigH but unfortunately you ride a Raleigh AND Shimano !!!!) HR is not really a "stirrer" either - he just adds spice to keep the pot boiling !!!racman2009-01-19 02:14:54
  15. To all the TCS hubbers that have openly condemned the action (not the person!) - WELL DONE. Crux - from your post it is evident that possibly TCS has reached critical mass where it can never be that "close knit, familly" club anymore due to the size and as I am sure you have experienced with your business history, a few hard decsions would probably need to be made to make provisions for this. I think the next Hub kit design should include "DOPERS SUCK" in bold, emblazoned all over the kit!!!
  16. Having read all 17 posts I applaud the commenst of the TCS members who have condemned the actions of the "ignorant". However, I do hope that TCS members will exercise similair restraint when criticizing and jumping to conclusions when the cycle of topics inevitably come full circle again to CycleLab and AM etc. .... These are the days of our Hub!!!! Oh forgot. I am not a member of either club (although invitations would be most welcome) racman2009-01-18 08:47:27
  17. Congrats STM! Of course I know it's for free but in my opinion the Commencal looked nicer. Enjoy the build
  18. Old news - I heard DG is testing this at the Epic as part of the new campaign: "How to get less bike for more money"
  19. I presume you mean about the Token shipment rather than the "flesh" bit HR I need a braze on FD and decent 27.2 seatpost to complete the build over from my BMC. So.... I am going to try the Token Accura (sp?) FD & RD which should be here sometime before Feb I think. Of course if anyone has a 2007/2008 Record Braze on FD (for compact cranks) at a good price etc, I would be interested.
  20. Thx, the photos don't do the pearl effect justice. Looks stunning "in the flesh (or should that be carbon?) Now just waiting for the next Token shipment to complete the build.racman2009-01-04 23:32:06
  21. Also, thx WorcesterWheelers for the frame - also great price I must also say that both Francois (WW) and Arno (TF) are an absolute pleasure to deal with!
  22. Ok, so I finally decided on a slightly conservative paint scheme and TokenFreak sprayed it. The Carbon was initially sprayed with a clear lacquer with a black tint as I didn't like the "brownish" raw carbon color. The finished paintwork was again sprayed with a gold pearl clear which looks great as it gives a different look in the sunlight. Thx TF for a great job and great price.
  23. Wannabee cycling club has a few group rides: "Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 05h30 from Waterstone Village Centre <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Saturdays and Sundays at 06h00 from Waterstone Village Centre On the 16th and 26th we will start at 06h00"
