My opinion on a custom set you can get a couple of things. 1. the hubset that you want not the hubs that the manufacturer decided they wil put in. 2. the custom choice of spokes, i.e. light or something thats seriously strong/ 3. obviously choice of rims, and what you want from a rim, once again super light XC, stronger XC, light Trail. etc. 4. if you have "not run of the mill setups" I have 142 x 12mm rear, and 20mm maxle front its just simpler having one made up.

I have been a supporter of CWC for quite some time, but i have to admit, that even though online's service is still great there are now quite a few things that are starting to irk me about CWC. 1. The lack of stock they keep these days at online, on a couple of occasions i was forced to buy from buycycle now, because CWC simply doesnt have stock on items, mails get answered with we are expecting shipment end of the month etc, but come end of the month the same items are still not in stock. 2. The fact that out of stock items dont get removed from the site or marked immediatly as out of stock, which means every week i log in, i check the item to be greeted with the out of stock icon under the main item properties. 3. looking at the XT brakes so it says 2390 on the main page, so you go to the item properties page and guess what "silver XT is apparently 2390 and conveniantly out of stock, but "Black" XT brakes are in stock and only selling for about R600 more R2999. Same brakeset two diff prices and incorrectly displayed on the main page. And my last grip i have is when you are looking to buy certain items and the main description doesnt clearly state 26" or 29" so you have to go into every item to fine out what its inteded for, and then yet again most of the items I need are out of stock again. I decided 3 months ago when this started irritating me i wont rant about it but damnit enough is enough. Simple 1. Put the correct pricing on and dont try underhanded price schemes to draw intererest. 2. Clearly label the main descriptions for intended wheelsize of make different categories for 26, 27.5 and 29. 3. Let me be a stick in the mud here, but i disagree i can change lines much easier with ol bigfoot, i find it way more direct and way more precise, but that might have a lot to do with the stiffness of the bike rather than the wheelsize. But i have quite often changed lines halfway through picking a route and found the bike responds instantly to my new direction. And so far no OTB excersizes
