  3. Let me be a stick in the mud here, but i disagree i can change lines much easier with ol bigfoot, i find it way more direct and way more precise, but that might have a lot to do with the stiffness of the bike rather than the wheelsize. But i have quite often changed lines halfway through picking a route and found the bike responds instantly to my new direction. And so far no OTB excersizes
  4. Swiss no the wider bars are once a gain an Trail/AM/DH standard, makes any bike more stable decending at speed, and they generally have shorter stem's as well.

  6. Swiss couple of things, here, 1. the camber is more aimed at the Trail market than the XC market so yeah it will not climb as effeciantly, 2. The camber is one of the lightest AM/Trail bikes out of the box but nowhere near what we expect weight wize from XC bikes. 3. Most of the stock bikes have too many spacers on the headset lifting the bars too high making it uncomfortable, either drop spacers or invert your stem. 4. Not sure if you were on 2x10 but if you are yeah 2x10 takes some getting use too.
  7. Nope common misconception, framesize stays framesize, depends on the geometry regardless if its for 26 or 29, I rode a large 26" giant, and i ride an XL 29" rocky mountain, because your wheels are bigger it doesnt mean the frame size gets bigger. well maybe the chainstay's by about 2cm but thats it.
  8. Yeah you would lol.
  9. Thats exactly what i had before i saw the light, poor anthem just gathered dust for three months so i sold the old lady
  10. Well failling your logic here, go back to putting on a 21speed groupo on your bike and let me know how that works out for you lol
  11. My money is on X-man ... Caerus is just stubborn.
  12. I wish i could hang my head in shame ..... but im just having so much of fun
  13. damnit i was gonna say this but hell since you did that already ima just say follow @santaclause cause he gives pressies.
  14. http://bottelaryhillsmtb.co.za/ All the info on that link, quite a good success story in the short time they have been open, and I can only see it getting better as they progress.
  15. Every single question can be answered by hitting the search button.
  16. Riding jeeptrack can be done for free at many many places, and having 20km of track where according to your description 16km might be rideable doesnt appeal to me at all Mojo. There is absolutly no way i would even consider paying anything to go ride 16km of jeeptrack. Same with when they openend bottelary hills on this side, at first it was 40km of jeeptrack also with stunning views, simply no appeal to ever ride there even though its in my back yard, now that they have made some nice ST sections there is much more appeal, and I am actually willing to pay to go ride there.
  17. Thats what ive been saying all along, yes 29'ers a couple of years ago were only marathon bikes. Since i have had my 29'er i have shattered every previous record on every single track i usually ride, and I am a lot less fit now than what i was when i set my best times on the 26" I think the bike just suits my riding style and i feel more comfortable and more confident so i end up going faster and faster. Thats why in my humble opinion 26" bikes have become redundant to me, except for proper AM bikes where you take some massive drops, there the strenght of the 26" wheel outwheighs the 29'er but for normal trail riding and racing I dont see any advantage a 26" has over a 29" not with the latest generation bikes. They simply handle supremly, they are fast out of the blocks. great in the rough stuff, and just glide over long distances. The irony is that if you check my posts from last year I was the biggest whiner about 29'ers being crap. Got myself a rude awakening.
  18. Either im glad i didnt decide to take the tallboy or you just dont deserve her, give her to me and ill let you know which.
  19. Refer back to my original post/opinion and yes to me its being capable to do certain skills comfortably and fitness. If you can bunnyhop a bike 1m it doesnt mean you can finish a 80km race. but the best test would be to join a race where you stard just after the elite and A seeded riders, make sure this race has ST and enough technical sessions. If you can easily stay with your group especially on the technical sections then you are probably intermediate. Houwhoek or Greyton challenges or equivelant type riding. 50% jeeptrack 50% singletrack give or take.
  20. yup yup Rule #9 // If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period. Fair-weather riding is a luxury reserved for Sunday afternoons and wide boulevards. Those who ride in foul weather – be it cold, wet, or inordinately hot – are members of a special club of riders who, on the morning of a big ride, pull back the curtain to check the weather and, upon seeing rain falling from the skies, allow a wry smile to spread across their face. This is a rider who loves the work
  21. If i remember correctly rule 9 also applies here, let me just check that quick.
  22. for you i suggest to google velominati and read rule #5 that should shed some light.
  23. Just as it easier to hope a 24" bike instead of 26" bike? Captian obvious.
  24. damn straight and preferably your better half or her parents white couch..... No Excpetions.
