k2c Times of prev years i suspect, though i dont trust their seeding systems my trianing partner and i finished most of our races within 5 mins of each other that were racetec timed and het got seeded group2.

Not sure about the other racetec races, but as far as I am aware, the three races that make up most of the seeding stats for the western cape is the knysna classic 85km, Die Burger 75km and your previous time for last years race. Had a technical last year that cost me loads of time, this year only did the knysna 50 as it was my GF's first race, and had to pull from die Burger due to illness, so i got me a nice crappy seeding in group 5 :

Yup its for their own internal structures till such time you get seeded, basically a placeholder. If you go seatch by just name you will see there are only category A an B on the system for k2c 2012. where as if it was seeding you would see lists including A B C D E F G for the 7 start groups.

thats not the seeding, its just a category classification.

The tallboy as far as i can remember was designed to run 120mm, also read somewhere that the chaps at Santa still ride their pre-prod models at 140mm and are luving it. though if you go 140mm youll void the warrantee.

From all the bikes you mention here dude the Silverback is probably the nicest bike do the math crest wheelset 6.5k, xt slx groupo 9k, reba fork 4.5k then you havent even added the frame or the brakes to the price. And the SB geometry is 10 times better than either the titan/axis/merida. And BTW the entry level Fox' forks a ****, Only the high end fox compares to the Reba and then at almost tripple the price.

You have to realize that suppliers will give you an estimate only, they face holdups from places like the monkey's at customs/SARS etc etc which they cannot account for. However I still beleive that they should have a database of reminders setup when they promise to deliver and at least phone the client when delays are experianced which they never do sadly.

Depends on when your seeding starts, but its quite a drive going through George to Uniondale, so an very early start will be the order of the day.

Stick to what you have been training with, if its energade then its energade, best is to take some solids along for the ride especially if your not super fit and will spend 5 or 6 hours on the bike. And dont forget the rennie's for cramps. I normally dont cramp but in last years 40degree heat those rennie's saved my life up kom se pad.

Looking at the regulations 305. All the city has to do to be able to enforce fining these idiots is simply put up a couple of signs that says vehicles may not park in the cycle lanes. Then it will classify under regulation 304.

yup saw that vid too. Should be simple either just scratch the cars as you go past, or ride around with a million "think bike" stickers and plaster like 20 on each car you see.

Bog roll, and a bucket, and your bike cleaning kit, that sand on the way to uniondale covers every square inch of the bike. You will want to clean it pre race. Also give it horns on the first 5km and first climb loads of traffic and if you get off on that hill due to traffic, you walk it.

Sorry thats retarded the more cycle lanes they can build the better, if you want to train find rural road with a shoulder and go train there. Urban roads are for commuting and cycle lanes are there to ensure people can commute safely.

dont worry about it just look at the 2012 bikes they still look exactly the same.
