  1. Once again its the US legal system all he has to do is create reasonable doubt, the case is being built on human testomany and thats the easiest thing to break into a pool of doubt if your laywer is any good, and i assume he has some damn good vultures on retainer. Secondly i can already see his closing arguement: 500 test over many years, they say LA masked the dope, well ladies and gentleman of the jury, some of the samples in the possesion of the authorities are more than 10 years old, did my client enivsage how technology would advance to the point that they can now tell you if you have plasticides in your blood? Why has there never been any traces of these supposed masking agents found in the samples that are still available today, why with all our new technology can we still not find anything untoward in any of these stored samples, simple ladies and gentleman of the jury? You can only convict my client beyond a reasonable doubt, the evidence speak for itself, many cases all for personal gain against my client, 500 tests performed on him like a lab animal, contradictory wittness accounts, ladies and gentleman you cannot find my client guilty since there is only doubt here not to mention reasonable doubt.
  2. In Principle i agree, but this will once again affect certain individuals more than others, the major culprits like the Taxi's busses, etc will probably escape penalty as per usual, but it will do a lot for the state of the vehicles on the road.
  3. Yeah oppinions will vary as far as this type of thing is concerned, I would say intermediate skills with XC starts at fitness, if you can do a 45km race in about 3:00 to 3:30 you are at intermediate fitness level, (obviously races differ but that just a benchmark. Then bikewise, Trackstand for at least 1 minute, Do a proper bunny hop Be confident in doing XC type drop offs 30-60cm normally Be able to do really tight off camber downhill and uphill switchbacks with ease. Be able to do a cutty into a corner if required Be able to negiotiate rock gardens with some confidence Be able to small sized jumps (just for fun)] Oh and if you are in a race and you find yourself shouting "TREK" the whole time your probably intermediate. Thats all i can think of atm. Im sure more will surface
  4. depends what discipline XC, AM, freeride, DH?
  5. Lol actually there has been many doping scandals in chess. 15.1. FIDE, in close collaboration with the National Chess Federations, the International Olympic Committee and the National Olympic Committees dedicates its efforts to ensuring that in chess the spirit of Fair play prevails, leads the fight against doping in sport and takes measures in order to prevent endangering the health of competitors. FIDE has accepted the World Anti Doping Code and its international standards. Within FIDE the body responsible for this policy is the Medical Commission. 15.2. The Commission will agree from time to time, with the International bodies, on the list of prohibited substances and methods of doping that are applicable to chess players. The Commission will be responsible for the Anti Doping regulations and their execution.
  6. youll be used to clipping in and out within the first 10 minutes of riding with cleats, the problem is when you stop out on the trail or at the parking lot and you forget that you are clipped in.
  7. Agreed, but lets face it if your starting out speed is'nt you main concern staying ontop of the bike is your no1 priority. So as you get fitter and progress, its normally just much easier doing it on aggressive rubber than it is doing it on true xc rubber. As a rider becomes fitter, faster, and more skilled it becomes easier to do the same stuff on less grippier rubber.
  8. In the conti world 2.4 means 2.2 and 2.2 means 2.0
  9. Yeah but for that you can get the conti race sport versions they weigh in at 500grams or the ikon about 550 grams, and they have reinforced sidewalls. loved my racesports should import a few more.
  10. come ride in the cape lol. apparently the most you can get out of them here is about 200km and then its in the bin.
  11. They are quit thik and a bit heavier, but the best is to weigh the tyre at the lbs, the x-king protection 29 2.2 i bought has a claimed weight of 760grams but on the scale they are 680.
  12. and then you get posts like these, http://www.thehubsa....ur-xtrxt-setup/ Just wondering if thats a 1972 model? ok ok more like a 2005 model, but seriously 14k, for a bike that was designed 7 years ago, with xt parts and what looks to be the original stock rims?
  13. Hairy i had a gem of my own last night, some dude, advertised a wheelset with mid level hubs and "unbranded" rims, so i commented and said there is no such thing as an unbranded rim, what are they trying to do sell alex rims with semi decent hubs. Then i started getting PM's from his MOMMY! and wow can that women swear, she has to work on her grammar a bit but lol i had fun pm'ing back and forth last night, i even had my girlfriend in tears laughing next me.
  14. No metrorail security doesnt allow you to board a train with your bike, its not like first world countries where they have bike racks in the trains. Even if its empty they will expunge you.
  15. Yeah i bought the normal evo's just before the houwhoek challenge, mainly becuase it was pissing cats and dogs and i needed something a bit more aggressive for the mudfest i knew was comming, CWC had the rocket ron evo's for R250 so i though hell they only need to last one race so thats fair, bought them did the race was quite suprised that they held up. decided it was too much effort to revert back to my ikon's ... big mistake, this weekend 19km into greyton classic I shredded that @#$@$@#$@ peace of @#$@#$ schwalbe like old peace of cheese, I can just thank my lucky stars it was in a corner and not going at 60kmh on the downhills. So bugger that, only maxxis ikons and x-king for my they are the only tyres that i havent been able to destroy.
  16. Yeah my gf seems to be good at this, she not only picked up my glasses at greyton as they flew of my helmet she handed another guy his missing oakley's too. Its a good feeling when someone returns lost cycle goodies.
  17. As to your lacking skill, i wasnt trying to be mean, but its a fact that as you progress you can do away with grippier tyres for more XC fast rolling orientated rubber. Its a matter of evolution. BTW ardents are more AM than XC but yea very grippy very nice wheels. And i agree with you beginners should start on the grippier stuff it helps build confidence.
  18. depends on conditions but x-king, geax suagaro, maxxis ikon, rocket ron snakesin, all good front tyres.
  19. i suspect you just lack skill, ardents are the equavelant of mountainkings 2 and thats only ok in really wet muddy conditions. otherwise they are total overkill. Racekings not my fav but you can handle them in any situation, if your skilled enough.
  20. correct its a race tyre, and is meant for speed not grip, same as the AKA, aspen, crosmark etc. Its a good tyre but not meant for trail conditions, and can get slippery in damp/wet conditions. All conti's have good sidewall protection UST and Protection versions. And generally a nicer softer compound than most of the Maxxis bar the new Ikons. But if your skilled enough and can handle drifiting in corners and sliding of rocks etc, you can easily do some hectic trails on these. Only issue i had with them is trying to cycle up a steep hill littlered with pebbles, very low grip under these conditions and it tends to spin out regardless of how you distrobute your weight.
  21. I suspect your race king might be deformed if you measure a 2.2 race king at 2.1bar then you get the the actual width of 2.0. Its a common thing that conti volumes are not as advertised, is a good tyre in dry non technical conditions.
  22. Your still a noob so your forgiven, all steeds need to be placed on the couch! preferably a white couch.
  23. None that I have experianced chicks like it, I am still on the same bottle of shampoo since 1993, and i never have morning hair, so now i dont see any downsides
  24. Yeah i see your point guys with leg hair never get their chicks to rub up against them or get massages from their girls. Bullsh!t as per usual, if you want to shave your legs thats fine by me. I dont care what bike you ride road or MTB you still look like a numbnuts metromale, at the end of the day. If my girl had to say shave your legs id tell her very politly that she needs to be carefull about the door banging her ass on the way out of my front door. i'll shave my head once a month and thats as far as i am prepared to go.
  25. Rocky mountain element 930, but with different brakes than the stock elixer 3's and a reba "trail specific" best damn bike ever
