  1. More likely you just have a shait 9'er?
  2. On the flip side you get this quote in that article Random testing of off-the-shelf dietary supplement products on sale in the UK have shown that one in 10 are contaminated with banned substances that could lead to positive drugs tests in professional sportsmen. Similar random testing in the US has shown that one in four supplements are contaminated, Dr Hall tells me. Now this bring me to say that out of all the drugs that they have on the list 95% have minimal to know effect on actual athelete performance, I beleive that its actually getting ridiculous on how that list gets extended every year, and people's lifes can be destroyed becuase you bought a top of the range product in good faith. I still think if its available over a counter at a pharmacy it should get off the list, leave your hardcore stuff there that has a known effect on perfromance, EPO, steroids etc. Nasal spray sure as **** aint going to make you better athelete except if you have sinusitus.
  3. http://www.sportingintelligence.com/2011/05/02/exposed-the-contaminated-supplements-including-diet-pills-implicated-in-multiple-drug-test-bans/ thats one example.
  4. My question is why is USN always in the mix with illegal substances, companies like Hammer never do a recall, and you dont hear that they have crap in their products. I know of many USN products that either they say cannot be used by professional atheletes or gets pulled due to illegal substances.
  5. Once you realize food, electiricty and warm water are all added extra's youll be able to afford a bike in no time.
  6. I'm sure ive seen converters on CRC
  7. first price Formula R1 Second prize XT
  8. Nah I admittedly suffered in the beginning but im getting use to it now and I am only getting stronger, I actually find now that the leg strength is getting where its supposed to be I climb better on my 9 than my 6, especially on low to med gradient hills you just fly past everything, its those 15%+ hills where things get hairy without a granny. it was like learning to ride hills all over again. But yeah if i had to put on a smaller ring im pretty sure ill destroy the times up the hills that i have done on my 6
  9. I also never wanted a carbon bike, but hell if RM can form carbon like they do their Alu bikes then its a no brainer for me. That said i aint never selling my element 29 its like a cult classic in my mind.
  10. Just be prepared to crap on the uphills for the first couple of months, hell when i converted i found myself repeating, wish i have a granny wish i have a granny.
  11. Can't exactly compare a recon gold to a Fox but hey rode a recon gold now for 3 months before i slapped my new reba on, and its a very capable fork, not the plushest but it did what it was supposed to, just sucks that its single air.
  12. What else are you going to do on the friday except cuase crap on the hub lol. Opinions are here to be rendered Heres mine, have ridden multiple RS and Multiple foxes in my short liftime, Fox is totally overpriced and totatlly underperforms in the XC market, their AM/DH stuff however is superb. FOX is a total ripp off since the Reba gives you better performance at half the price and half the maintenance. The lefty is comparable to the 2012 sid's in my opinion, the 2011 sid's sucked balls, but RS got the recipe right for a true race fork. And the lefty is great in the not so rough stuff, but the minute you hit AM/Trail conditions with drop off's boulders etc it under performs. But then again so does the sid in those conditions. Best value buy Rock Shox Reba by far, trail orientated fork at race orientated weight limits.
  13. Yeah it took bike manufacturers their sweet time to get the 29'er thing right, tested one a couple years ago and hated it. Then thought id get a "marathon" 29'er for those jeep track orientated races, but ill keep my 26 anthem for the fun stuff. Did a lot of research and test rides and eventually decided on the Rocky Mountain Element 29, its the best allround bike ive ridden, not superlight for the price but man is it fast, its nimble, and it loves ST and tight corners. After my Anthem gathered a 2cm layer of dust I thought it best to sell her. Since ive had my rocky i just havent had the urge to get onto 26" wheels again. But i find that in the 29'er world you get what you pay for, your niche manufacturers are getting the formula's right, the major manufacturers are putting very decent 29'ers out with good specs, but they are in no way "spectacular" if you know what i mean. If you really want a good 29'er look at rocky, niner, (and just for the V) Yeti, ellsworth, Santa Cruz, pyga. these are bikes that are not 100% race orientated and not 100% trail orientated but a nice mix of the two. If you want a lighter true race orientated bike thats ok'ish on the technical stuff but super fast on the flat stuff then yes your usual suspects apply, Spez, Giant, Scott, Next bike however will be a Rocky mountain Element 950 carbon (trail orientated bike) for me. Already the GF is cringing cuase there goes the money for the oversea's holiday i was planning.
  14. budget XT stiff and bullet proof, spending some money ZTR arch EX with hope pro hubs Spending a lot of money mavic crossmark slr
  15. its not my fred hijack away and yeah i did know that, ill still take the reba over the sid anyday since its more the lockout system on the sid thats better than the reba, "for true racers" but i never lock my fork anyway. Ok now hijack off.
  16. Ive got my money on USN every year they claim they dont have stuff in their products thats on the banned list and then every year a warning goes out to pro athletes and a recall is made on some or other product.
  17. Keep in mind the current 2012 Reba's are almost 250 grams lighter than the recon, i rode the recon its really not a bad fork but 250grams weightloss is a huge gain for relativly little money extra. thats if you have normal quick release or 15mm maxle.
  18. Whats your current fork and wheelset?
  19. Many happy miles im sporting a shiny RLT Ti myself
  20. Just put on a Reba trail specific 20mm, And I am truely in love
  21. 'Incorrect im the one thats not fooled by fad's, 26" have their place, 29" have their place, 27.5 are for 26" riders that read comments made 8 years ago about 29'er performance. If it was that **** hot (seeing as the concept is being pushed by some manufacturers namely FOX DTSWISS and one or two others) you would have more 27.5 bikes in the 2013 selection (you will notice almost none of the manufacturers have 27.5 models out for 2013. Granted once its a standard, and there has been a couple of designs out and about and some real world consumer testing and proof it might turn into a viable solution, but slapping 27.5 on your 26" frame (unless you have a AM type frame that can handle the difference in angles) is not the most intellegent move. Especially on something like a scott where its fine tuned for 26" @ 100m. But your more than welcome to go waste your money its a semi free country after all.
  22. You can also fit tractor tires to a toyota tazz if you know how, because it can be done doesnt mean it should. All your going to end up with is a bike with the geometry designed for 26" wheels that will ride high and feel off balance with an expensive 27.5" wheel. hell it took bike designers 8 years to start perfecting 29" geometry, anyone thats buying a 27.5" bike in the near future has money to waste, i wouldnt bother buying a 27.5 specific designed bike till its at least in its 3rd or 4th revision.
  23. Please dont hurt my feeling, it doesnt like comming out a state of confusion into a state of hurt, or any other state for that matter.
  24. Well rolling would depend on what wheelset you choose now doesnt it.
  25. A decent wheelset is one of the best investments you can make, stiffer lighter better rolling so yes its money well spent if in fact you plan to ride that bike for at least another year or so. Brakes are personal preference but i dont find any of shimano's breaks really that bad, even though i ride avids.
