  1. fork it man! glad you survived! Agreed, those cameramen are quite inconsiderate when it comes to crashes, etc Edit: saw a few times on the race footage how the bike squeezed on the inside of a corner when the bike should have stayed at the back of the bunch.
  2. So who got what time from A? I didn't reach my goal but I was broke going up Suikerbossie.
  3. Tiny K

    argus times

even the elites had off times compared to previous years....... around 10 min I think.
  4. Nice pics man! I agree - this guy should not be in a race of any sort, pushing the bounds on the human one too
  5. There we go. Knew someone would know who it was.
  6. Legs were heavy all week. Was the same this morning. A bunch rode like league. Chilled on the flats and hammered the hills - I ain't no climber. I kept with the front bunch of guys all the way, but lost touch up chappies. My descending skills (and weight) helped me reel them in. Going up Suikerbossie was tough. Quads burnt like hell and the front lot got away. Thanks to two tandems, they pulled a small group of us to the front bunch - I thanked them when we caught the front bunch (well, what I though was the front bunch). Think there were a few more that got away and caught the leading VB and Ladies bunch. Tell your buddy to check his phone - I got an sms with my clock time that I finished soon after I finished - 9:20:09. started at 6:27. A couple seconds after my Garmin time but accurate.
  7. A buddy of mine had the same issue. Had to dismount because of the masses of people wanting to get water / coke from the water point at the top of chappies. not cool!
  8. He suffered solo until Smt and then jumped on a tandem with some pro rider for the rest of the route..... forget what the guys name is.
  9. makes me feel better then and have a sense of achievement of my time ....... my legs felt like lead and I suffered at every climb. Damn laaities that look like twigs and climb like monkeys (their ability, not that they climb badly)!
  10. You catch him?
  11. I use the ankle strap and have not had any issues so far. Cant attach to my shoe. I know a guy who just pops it into his sock and rides like that. Never lost it.
  12. story of my life too......
  13. will get you on FB
  14. Well, it she didn't post a pic of herself, and you know how modest some women can be 'Fit and Attractive' could be very relative to the eyes of the beer holder
  15. hahahaha! So you gotta help her for nothing in return! What are the chances?! :w00t:
  16. Yeah, it'll work for those too. The one on the left is better than the one on the right merely because it supports the uprights for longer - the double pins stretch the holes over time.
  17. Well, I weighed t the other day - 16.6Kg's ....... on the heavy side but works like a charm
  18. climbing legs are good. as far as I understood, you got an E seeding from the A# substitution.......
  19. I have to admit, I have done that before but not for commercial gain. Photo that was taken of me during a race.
  20. He's leaving in E (for those who want to know)
  21. Do a bulk order like we do CRC - I am in for the win!
  22. LOL! ja, and I still have these bloody 'love handles' to get rid of too! another 5Kg's I reckon - it's gonna be a tough winter for me - loads of training.
  23. I have started controlling the quantity and proportion of food (protein, carbs, free foods) that I consume and have lost 3Kg's since Dec. As some have said, it depends on your own genetics. Low Gi is not the be all and end all anymore. The Gi of a slice of white bread is 70, but tests showed that it gave readings between the 50' and 130's for different people. Tests also found that something that responded as a low Gi in the Am, could have high Gi responses in the PM. Carbs would most likely have the same effect - different responses to each persons own genetics and lifestyle.
  24. give it a go - it's all you can do. If the weather is good, sub 3 is possible down to L (if the riders have the hunger for it).
  25. so are you RS or RMM? (initials). I was knackered at the finish last year from working off the front during the race (to the degree that I could net even push the pedals - just kept the legs going without any major force behind it). This year I will ride more conservatively and with more wisdom. Had a good DC and Burger, so hope the legs pull through for the final race of the summer season. Dunno what PPA seeding you have been riding - I was in B for most of summer.
