  1. Thanks Tank, so kind of you. Well, I do have another chip at home that I could use.....
  2. PM me your bank details - will buy 2 tickets Edit: cancel this.
  3. Like he said, it must NOT be horizontal. I use the velcro strap that is supplied with it. If you fix it to the MTB, then you have to buy another one for the road bike.....
  4. Sorry, don't know what to say..... committed to the ride already
  5. Will see if I come watch. Doing the Argus route the morning.
  6. Cool!

  8. Where you based? I use the strap (but am considering strapping to to my chain stay - carbon = non-metal). Can donate the mount if you are in the cape - more s/west, stellies, paarl, wellington area. Or can leave it with a friend that can get it to you.

  16. That sucks!
  17. ummm...... I don't ride to a program. I ride when I feel like it, how I feel in the day and as far (or short) as I like. See my later post re time - agree with you there. If comparing the different disciplines, then time based is the way to go. Yeah, I am a purist - I only ride road. LOL! Would love to start swimming again, but time is not on my side.
  18. Fair enough - MTB do it for distance too - 45Km / 60Km race. BUT that is why there are separate challenges for the different disciplines don't you think. I'll see your 5c and raise another 10c If you want to compare the separate challenges to each other, then going by time is the most correct way of doing it.
  19. Good one! I think this debate around time is a waste - it should be based on distance because that is what you ride - you don't ride a 3:15 hour race and stop when you hit the target time - you ride a 123Km race - the time you take is up to your strength and how you feel on the day (and technicals you may pick up along the way). Just my 5c
  20. RIP Ertjies! Great man that went out enjoying what he loved
  21. LOL! Such a sympathetic guy you are! Rule #5 quite rightly quoted there M
  22. Did that in E last year - was the plan to be in the front 25% of the bunch always! Was riding withing the top 15 guys most of the time. Went up past Cape Point's entrance climb towards the front. Went up chappies 4th wheel. 3rd wheel popped under pressure but couldn't move off the line because we were squeesed up the edge of the rock wall going up chappies. Lost contact of the front two guys.
  23. LOL! Shows how much attention I was paying to the race at the front of E....... didn't even know that. Was just dodging wheels that we were catching and avoiding the Jubilee Square masses on the side. Well that and watching the laaitie that kept shooting off the front, only to be caught a little later. Think he came 1st or 2nd in the E bunch. Light and strong guy he was.
  24. There is a number plate holder and lights...... Form follows function. I thought of making it collapsible but then it adds wear points on the extra pins. Actually, I still have loads of ideas to improve it, but I need to let it be at some point and live with it.
