As far as I can remember it was something like 3 years? I could be mistaken. I remember that my Bell has a 3 year replacement warranty - crash or not - and you get 30% of the purchase price off you next helmet

Going to do the race through your ex home town tomorrow (Bay City goes through Fish Hoek) - considered doing the short route today but then would have been disappointed with my result tomorrow

Is this a road or MTB race? I have heard that (for MTB) if you hit a rock and bend the rim open to the degree that the tyre won't seat, kicking down on the rim bends it back into shape and allows the tyre to seat ....... can't say that I have seen it as I am a roadie, but have heard of it.

Might have bonked? More training and further distances. That road is quite hectic especially from Rooiels side! Just climbs all the way back to the Strand. Rest one day and do another ride the following day.

Kinda what I was getting at..... I have seen Ghost bikes before but, still at this point, don't know much about the brand. I am sure Max put them on the map in a big way. I think the team would have liked Max to stay on longer, but as contracts go, it is exit-able from both ends once it reaches full term. But as you say, maybe the package wasn't as good as what other teams were offering - and as life goes - it's all about the money.

Zac, you are 15yo (if I remember correctly) - lower back pains aren't from carrying a tube and tyre lever in the back pouch.... I on the other hand can complain about back pains. LOL! Training setup - tool bottle with 2x tubes, 1xtyre lever, 1x bankie with 32Gi powder for 1 mix, multi tool, quicklink. Pump on the bike Race setup - 1 x tube, 1 x tyre lever. Pump on the bike. 1x enduren bar, 1x Gu.

There may be the thought that he owes the team after bailing him out, but at the same time, if you give me a one year contract, it shows me that you are not confident in my abilities....... It leaves a bit of subtle tension between team and rider I think.

It is rough through that section of Sunnydale! SHO! Good that you got your bike back but quite k@k that you had to go through all the crap. I know a guy who is into security that lives in the area. The one time they broke into his garage, went though his wallet and laid the cards neatly on the seat - took the money naturally. Stole some winter jackets out the back of the bakkie and were gone like the wind.
