  1. Seems like it's not happening....... not even on Cyclelab's calendar of events - http://www.cyclelab.com/Race%20Calendar.aspx?type=Road%20Events
  2. I see the website is even non-existent........ (use to be www.edcc.co.za)
  3. Will definitely be there! Even just gave the wife orders that we are coming to watch
  4. Surely you will still be charged VAT when bringing it through customs? (not to be confused with Customs Duties)
  5. Or you can get them the next day from CWC - http://www.cwcycles....himano-pads-set Edit: I must admit, a bit more pricey though.....
  6. Yeah, if it is a hubber, we wanna rag him/her until the end of days (or they change their avatar name)
  7. The bike was for the TT, not for the road race (AFAIK)..... looks like it worked to me......
  8. Guess brakes were an optional extra? LOL!
  9. Cannondale Lefty Large and it's mine......... just saying

    new project

Honestly, yes it's his bike, but that bar tape is a bit mif. I was conceived in the 80's so I don't share the nostalgia of that bar tape. Nice ride though. May it bring many happy miles
  12. Wicked!
  13. It was HUGE! (IMO) A buddy and I rode on our MTB's (in lycra) from Edgemead , did the ride, and then rode back. Was a great training experience..... the lack of sleep after having to drive back to Wellington was not awesome = zombie mode today! Edit: I have a few photos and a video clip of the start - but it was massive!
  14. For future rants, pls call the guys and not just resort to emails and expect miracles to happen. I find that actually speaking to someone is more productive than emailing back and forth........ just my 5c
  15. Well 5mm on my 26" MTB gave me knee issues. I wouldn't ride it like that for too long. Good motivation to get yourself a 29'er saddle
  16. My problem is solved - MTB saddle was too high. Did Die Burger MTB race on Saturday and a 75Km road ride on Sunday and was 100%. I did also focus on keeping cadence high versus grinding lower gears at a very low cadence. Hope you get sorted and back on the bike soon!
  17. forking hell!!!!
  18. Yes, you can switch it back but I agree, I don't know which is more accurate when it comes to MTB trails.
  19. This topic is too varied for me to have one distinct age category. Started as a laaitie on a tiny bike, got a Nishiki MTb when I was 8/9. Used to go to the track (concrete one in Durb's) with my dad when he still rode and had a jol riding around when they were done. Cycled to school and back in Primary School and High School but my main focus from Gr 7 was swimming. Made provincial teams until 2003 when I got taken out by a bakkie. I started competitive cycling in Oct 2009 when my father-in-law challenged me to ride the Argus of 2010 with him. Well, the bug bit and have been riding road since then. Recently I started MTB'ing and really enjoying that too. Edit: ah yes, and loved riding the BMX track in Queensburgh with buddies on weekends. I hear it's now a very renown track to ride.
  20. On garmin connect, click on elevation correction. it uses barometric pressure to calculate ascent and descent meaning that if the pressure changed slightly, your elevation data would be inaccurate. Just a bit of fyi On that note, lemmie go check mine
  21. re Bain's - Nuwekloof Pass is alternative to get to Ceres and is only a few Km longer but takes less time (I have done this by bakkie to test the theory already) re Elites - 95% in
  22. I was following some guys and we just turned left. As we walked over the fallen tree we noticed the route marker arrow through the trees pointing in the direction we were heading. Was a jol though!
  23. Die Burger FB link says Wednesday at the latest
  24. the one on the fast downhill? and just after that a sharp right hander? I loved it! (punctured my tube on the bump too)
  25. He's a bit more expensive though......
