    Damn that is crazy!!!!
  3. not that I would think (coming from a roadie).
  4. Great article - I just love this - All you have to do is ride as hard as you can for one minute and rest three minutes or until you subjectively feel recovered and do it again and again until exhaustion or you see Jesus. When you see Jesus, that's when you know it's time to stop.
  5. This is what I wear for chilly mornings - Buff over ears and mouth Cotton vest under jersey Wind jammer (sleeveless) First Ascent arm warmers First Ascent Knee warmers (from bib to ½ way down the calf) Shoe socks and/ or toe covers
  6. I think it is getting to him that it is affecting his participation in another sport discipline....... ban him from cycling and leave it at that - but to prevent him from taking part in another discipline is a bit of a ball ache (pun intended)
  7. I think he is just tired of this shite.....
  8. Cool Can't remember much of the race - was too damn tired to. My problem is that the frame is too small for me - so when I try keep the back wheel planted, the front wheel lifts, and if I shift forwards, the tyre slips in the clay......and yeah, sometimes I was completely in the wrong gear. After the first half of the race I was gatvol and just pedelled to finish. Oh ja, my saddle bag also decided to come open - decided to turn around and fetch my stuff. Lost my tyre lever but thankfully never got a flat. Edit: I vaguely remember seeing a silverback pass me, and then I overtook on the technical bits.... I think. Lots of bikes came past me
  9. I do fast speeds on the tar so I also used a strap over the top tube near the stem just to keep the nose down - as previously posted, I had my road bike 'take off' on the N2 with the front wheel lifting and the bike falling over - thankfully still staying in the bakkie. Alternatively, you can tie the front of the bike to secure preventing the lifting at high speeds.
  10. You have 2 straps - both around the seat post and securing tight to either side of the load bed. I prefer to bury the back wheel into one of the corners that it cannot go anywhere.
  11. Was I that bad that you remembered me?! Yeah, that was me - white wind jammer over my Williams Bike Shop jersey
  12. DAMN! That is almost my monthly salary on a 7 day 'adventure'! No thank you - get more sponsors to bring the price down......
  13. I didn't spot you man! Did my last DRCP and 3sec FF this weekend too
  14. @Skubarra - I am glad I stayed too - won a lucky draw prize too @Topwine - You are lucky - my shower was ICE COLD from start to finish (about 30seconds) LOL! Edit: typo
  15. Well at least you two had a great race - first ever MTB race for me, 2nd MTB ride ever, on a vrek old HEAVY bike - it all made for a very interesting ride. For the first hour my HR was in the 170's/180's so I killed myself there. The downhills were great except for the ruts made from the rains - the bunny hopping over was awesome. I walked a lot of the climbs - bad gearing and frame too small for me - sitting near the front of the saddle and the front wheel kept lifting That steep downhill and the water crossing were my more memorable moments. The mud was really krap but it's part and parcel of MTB. Finished the race in 3:06 with a k@k sore lower back and loose front deraileur trigger shifter Note for future rides - go buy that Giant XTC 29'er ....... one day when I have that kind of money
  16. I was told I had to post this.... (by Order: smallh)
  17. Pity! I don't have any downlights at my place!!!
  18. The Zoncolan, Italy (Mens category) http://www.pbkblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/Zoncolan-300x298.jpg Absolutely breathtaking views and part of a few years of the Giro Would love to ride it! Edit: now I see someone else has the correct name for it....
  19. What is the point of having a seeding run done but there are no road races? It'll on happen closer to the Spring Season
  20. I get them (which is quite annoying sometimes), but no probs my side
  21. But that is what the rant is about - the fact that no penalty was issued. K & D were adhering to the rules.
  22. Hi, could you email the google map link to the actual route that has been mapped? I want to see if I can upload it onto my garmin. My email address is kcarchdesigns (at) gmail (dot) com Thanks
  23. Just to add my little bit more.
  24. RIP downed ride and condolences to family and friends.
  25. Sometimes I get the urge to want to past to happen again. Seems these guys can't (or won't) let go of the past..... well, it has nothing to do with the past - it's to do with their effing lazyness in not getting a job and keeping it!
