  1. After multiple requests on Facebook for the .gpx , I ended up just building my own on Strava. It’s accurate to within about 100 meters (which is just the exact point of the start and finish)Mail me at killkittie@gmail.com and I’ll send it to you.
  2. Thanks @ChrisF, I’ll certainly look it up.
  3. @lechatnoir Thanks for the reply…. So would something like this make more sense?
  4. Hey folks. ill be going down for the CTCT a little early and be staying in Paternoster for a few days. Can any of you fine people tell me if this will be a safe route to do. I’ll be on a road bike BTW. Cheers in advance.
  5. The Good. My day and finishing were better than last year, so that’s enough for me. The bad. I would have liked to have finished inside the stadium like the last couple I did. It just kind of puts the cherry on top of the ride. Being told by a random car guard that I’d have to pay him R100, otherwise he couldn’t guarantee that my cars tyres wouldn’t be slashed and my bodywork damaged did not help put my mind at ease during the ride. He also said the same thing to the drivers that parked in front and behind me.
  6. Good question. Please let us know if you find anything out. @Neville Bailey I just got off the phone with them and they told me that I should use the E-Brochure time. So that’s 15 minutes earlier.
  7. Or conversely… Absolutely recommended for use with dropper seat posts. We dont judge around here.
  8. I wonder if this guy is aware https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/cranksets/671235/dura-ace-9000-53-39 ‘LI’ falls under the recall 🙄
  9. I bought something similar to this product https://www.gearaid.com/products/tenacious-tape-patch-neoprene (I ordered it from the Dive-Inn site, which is the same people as Bike-Inn). Although the Assos bib is now fully naked and only fit for indoor riding, that patch is still there and holding strong, many thousand sweaty K’s later. EDIT: I just found the tube and it is in fact exactly the same product as I shared in that link
  10. Or for s#%ts and giggles just keep going straight and do Ertjies!
  11. I’m really tempted by this too but I live in the Vaal, so logistically it’s totally the wrong way round.
  12. This is how I learned as a child, and as it happens as an adult when I first went clipless.
  13. It’s there for the photographers to identify you, so it doesn’t absolutely have to be there.
  14. I'm quite happpy with how much I stepped up from last year.
  15. The Fast One at the end of January also counts for CTCT seeding.
  16. Super knowledgeable locals….. https://www.facebook.com/groups/188586884656004
  17. Some old school friendly and knowledgeable folk on these pages…. https://www.facebook.com/groups/188586884656004/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/179117061597 Its gonna be taken off your hands real quick!
  18. Nope, they’re currently on stage 4 of 5, and the catch up week is still to come.
  19. @SEANSTEP Cheers!
  20. Can I add to your question please……… To anyone that has already been to the expo… did the SPCA have a booth/stand?
  21. I have proper roadie shoes with drain holes at the toes. But my proper roadie socks are absorbent. Perhaps I should cut drain holes in the toes of my proper roadie socks. Problem solved.
  22. I use this https://www.sportsmanswarehouse.co.za/product/first-ascent-men-s-magneeto-cycling-jacket . It does a decent job of keeping you warm and dry. Though I have to add that my upper body getting wet doesn’t bother me. However, my shoes filling up with water makes me want to pull to the side of the road and phone my wife to pick me up.
  23. There was a guy at the last 94.7 with one leg who started overtaking us all on the climb after kyalami. Maybe I should have complained that he had an unfair weight advantage.😀
  24. @*Reinet* Marais I’m so sorry for your loss. All the very best for the future. @Cois The amount of times I would have given up….. But you just kept on fighting. It was a Herculean effort and you must be so tired, so I wish you a well deserved, long and peaceful sleep.
