  1. Glad you got home without incident, Dangle. I didn't do anything special though - just let you use my pump. I'm sure many others would have done the same. Tumbleweed, words fail me. Thanks for the compliment. Scooterza, I'd met Tumbleweed a few times before rescuing him so it wasn't that big a deal. It was quite a memorable day though - Tumbleweed gave me a beer-top-stamped signed copy of the first issue of Tread - what a collector's item! Cat-i, was good to see you again last night.
  2. Thanks Slowpoke and Ricky Bobby for the kind words.
  3. Thought I was seeing things when I logged into the Hub and saw my name under the Active Topics. Glad I could help, Dangle. Did you manage to get home okay?

What indoor trainer do you have? Might be able to help you if it is a TACX.
  5. RIP Mark.
  6. No it won't.
  7. You buy the ticket at the main Fountains gate.
  8. Chucky, wishing you all the best with your personal fight against cancer and also with your fundraising effort. Hubbers, please support Chucky by donating here: http://www.backabuddy.co.za/champion/project/mark-and-derek-8-seater-tandem
  9. That's correct Big H. It was pine trees. I don't think their intention is to only remove non-indigenous trees but rather to rehabilitate the area to how it used to be and this might involve removing some of the indigenous trees.
  10. They have been felling trees in Groenkloof ever since it first opened in about 1995. It used be forrested when I first started riding there. According to http://www.tshwane.gov.za/groenkloof.cfm they are rehabilitating the land "Currently, big clean-up operations are being run to restore the original woody bush of the area.". I'd love to see photos of what it used to look like compared to what it is now. Would be totally unrecognizable.
  11. That's what I'm trying to find out. I have been riding at Groenkloof for over 15 years now and most of the time I ride there on my own. This is the first "Groenkloof" incident I have heard of.
  12. This is from the CycleLab newsletter: "There was a hijacking at Fountains – Groenkloof this weekend. Please be aware not to cycle alone! There were 3 riders who were attacked by 2 men, wanting their cell phones and money. Please be extremely careful in that area!!" Does anyone have any further info on this?
  13. Thanks Admin. PS: Bet you are sleep-deprived with all the things you've had to deal with since the cut-over. Awesome job you're doing.
  14. I've got some questions/feedback about the new Hub: 1) Is it possible to sort the Active Topics ( https://www.bikehub.co.za/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=active ) per forum? There are always hundreds of For Sale ads between all the other posts and scrolling through them is tedious. 2) The start date of the topic isn't displayed. Can this possibly be displayed please? It would save one from reading old posts over again. If space is a problem, I'd rather see the start date than the number of replies. 3) The email notification subjects don't allow for one to sort the mails per topic as the Hub name is displayed first followed by the topic e.g "Dibles replied to TOPIC NAME". 4) The Hubber's location isn't visible anymore. Is it possible to display this please?
  15. This only seems to work for new posts and not posts made on the old Hub.
  16. Great! Thanks Admin.
  17. Cookies were cleared and I even tried rebooting my machine. Ended up having to upgrade to IE8. Firefox wasn't re-directing me to the new site. It seems to be working now though. Browsing the Hub on my phone is very hard to do now too.
  18. Thanks Admin.
  19. The default is no approval but I somehow already have friends linked to my profile. I have gone through all the settings and cannot find any option to remove them as friends.
  20. Can't even read any of the topics using IE7. Can't log in now either. Could earlier. Tried Firefox and can't log in either. Signed in via my phone now.
  21. I see that friends have automatically been assigned to my profile. How do I delete them/manage them? There seem to be two lists. One seems to be the PM "Buddy list" from the old site. The other list includes some names of Hubbers that I don't ever recall having chatted to.
