  1. Just done Susi and Chuma MTB Challenge in ZamBia. Best bike experience yet. Surpasses Tour de Tuli and Sani2c IMHO. Great riding, may not be everybody's cup of tea as not a race but an incredible experience. Cost R8550 plus R5000 for ticket to Lusaka. Did put link under Events forum.
  2. So have been sitting on the verge reading for a while and here is my 2c worth. Cut out all obvious carbs and fizzy drinks (beer, red wine and whisky not included) in December last year. Still eat quite a lot of butternut and sweet potato. I cannot measure what I eat or look at pee sticks every day, but I am relatively good about no carbs. Lost 16kg so far, only ride on water. Recently did Susi and Chuma challenge in Zambia, 5 days of hard riding on only water and plenty of gin at night. I miss savoury snacks, bad. Addicted to Carbonossi. So far so good.
  3. A new one for your bucket list: The Susi and Chuma Mountain Bike Challenge, following in the footsteps of Livingstone. An amazing and incredible adventure in an area that very few people will ever visit. Day 1: Kasanka to Nkondo. 51km of incredible single track Day 2: Nkondo to Lavushi Manda and back. 63 km Day 3: Nkondo to Makanga. 60 km Day 4: Makanga to Shoebill Island. 39 km. Magnificent herds of Lechwe. Day 5: Shoebill Island to Kasanka. 110 km via Livingstone memorial. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Bangweulu-Wetlands-Zambia/134901690010192 Do it!
  4. Maybe some-one on this forum can help. I have posted in the classifieds as well: https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/59775-32-tooth-102mm-bcd-chain-ring/ Nearly done with On One SS, Needing a 32 tooth 102mm BCD chain ring. Any ideas where I can get source one locally?
  5. Ja, welded a frame that slides into a bolt-on metal that goes behind ball of tow hitch. Purchased 4 Thule Pro-rides slowly slowly on the hub. Very heavy, but its for a mates Landy for a Zim tour. Will take 4 29rs without swearing and stuffing around trying to fit pedals between frames and seats over handlebars.
  6. Before and after- no going back now.
  7. Bjorn it is. Will contact him today. Thanks Guys.
  8. Hi Guys Any recommendations to have MTB wheels built up in PMB?
  9. http://www.thehubsa....fters-cassette/ All you ever needed
  10. Have sent Thug PM about his but here goes again. Also not sure if this is the correct thread but since we are here........ How much of the lugs did you remove? Up to the raised part of the middle ring or just below bolthole of large ring? I am inclined to rather cut less off and file away excess, less chance of a undeniable stuff-up.
  11. Thanks Nerd, that is exactly what I was looking for. Now off to the workshop and hacksaw we go......... a la Jeff Jones and Thug.
  12. @the nerd. May well be 102, using cr@ppy vernier. It is less than 104mm though. Are 102mm rings available?
  13. Hi okes. I'm building up an On-One SS. I've found an old XTR crank, only problem is that the BCD on middle ring is 100mm, and most new Cranks have BCD of 104mm. Any solutions or do I need to find a newer crank?

  16. Doing a tour to Zim next month and building a bike rack to go onto the back of a mates Landy. Will fit on behind the towbar, modifying an old attachment. Bought 4 Thule prorides off a hubber: Is the distance between the prorides = width of handlebar + a few cm? Need to fit on 4 racks (bikes). Any help gladly accepted.
  17. You've got it easy:
  18. Thanks, single speed project, slowly slowly collect all the bits and pieces.
  19. Never, ever, ask a sensible question on The Hub.
