  1. Recently ordered a parcel from an online music store in Gauteng. Took Skynet 13 days to deliver a stuffed up box after several calls and an experience that made me realise maybe Telkom customer wasn't that bad after all. Taged CRC on a Facebook post yesterday after seeing this thread, they replied this morning
  2. I don't understand the question... (At a push: because what you should go for is the eTap version)
  3. Specialized Diverge is also an option. As far as I can remember they have a sub R30k model
  4. Momsen GP300 and R355 are options as well
  5. Gary Anderson: I took the laptimes from yesterday’s running to create an adjusted lap time as if they were all on soft tyres. I have only taken the run length that they did their best time on and adjusted that to suit the fuel load at 0.05s per lap. It’s impossible to know the fuel loads, but you can make some judgements based on the run length. For tyres, I have adjusted the lap times by 0.3s per compound, which seems a decent average delta. But it depends on what the car balance is like and how it suits the compound, which is why it will vary from car to car. The Red Bull runs certainly look strong based on this, but bear in mind it has been known to run with a lower fuel level than its rivals in testing, while Mercedes is often very heavy. Adjusted times1 Red Bull 1m18.347s2 Mercedes 1m18.750s3 Renault 1m18.792s4 Ferrari 1m18.891s5 Williams 1m19.449s6 Haas 1m19.737s (suspect lower fuel than some)7 McLaren 1m20.206s8 Sauber 1m20.218s (probably lower fuel than most)9 Force India 1m20.455s10 Toro Rosso 1m20.623s (identical to the adjusted time from day 1)
  6. Add in all the catastrophic disc brake incidents happening during mountain biking events each day...
  7. Gary Anderson: "Looking again at the McLaren lost wheel, Alonso was on what I think was his fourth lap. I’m surprised a loose wheel would stay on that long rattling around so the driver can feel it. The big drama for McLaren is not going to be the wheel coming off itself, but the damage done by dragging the floor of the car through the gravel at a time when spares will be limited. If the wheel did just come off, then it will be a torque setting on a wheelgun not being correct – something has likely gone wrong of that nature."
  8. Struisbaai (again!)
  9. Struisbaai Harbour
  10. Spoke to the distributors. You can visit their website HERE for pricing and availability. You can also try the direct link to pricing HERE
  11. I've done 100% so far, so technically speaking I'm in!
  12. Not saying VIVA disc, but part of the reason for it only happening now was the need for other tech to evolve. Thru axles, better (lighter yet stronger) carbon lay up tech and fibres, etc. PLUS the advent of carbon wheels have forced the industry to look at alternative solutions to stop a bike that does not require friction on the wheels. Its part solution to another problem, part advances in (other) tech as well as in the tech itself (hydro discs have come a LONG way) and part "the latest and greatest". I'm riding a disc bike at the moment and it is quite a step up from the bike I rode before.
  13. Happened upon them today - in a rather brisk manner.
  14. Not today, but this bike took me to Struisbaai Harbour
  15. Cool entry: http://ridelikeapro.bikehub.co.za/contest/2/entry/9
  16. I've spoken to CCS and... June / July 2018 We'll know on Monday. I'll post as soon as I know.
  17. Do what floats your boat and works best for you. There is a trend away from saddlebags to under saddle straps. Like THESE from FARR or THESE and THESE from Specialized. Seriously though, do what suits your need and taste.
  18. All the best!

  21. Just happen to be chatting to Bibi (Brenton from Trailtech Cycles) on WhatsApp now when he mentioned that they had to evacuate as they're farm is on fire. Sucks big time.
  22. Trek's 2018 E-Bike range HERE.
  23. Yes, you can. From Ibis' website: TWO BOTTLESWe've made a provision on the Ripley for 2 water bottles, one inside the triangle and one below the down tube. It’s best to use a side-loading cage if using a large bottle inside the triangle.
