  1. Hi, As i understand it as i have spoken to Fritz and my son was in the front bunch. The lead moterbike went through the gate ahead to check the marking, it was then that the marshall for what ever reason closed the gate. As the course was in a 3 ring clover layout they all missed one of the rings. The decission for the results was based on the photo,s taken at the KOM?? my 2 cents worth
  2. Max Knox in 2.08 Philip Buys 2.13 Brandon Stewart Neil mcdonald
  3. Hi, PaulC, The results will be out as there is always a manual back-up and will still count towards the SAS seeding. I can understand waiting for the results being a rider myself, but i also want the correct results and there is prize money involved for those who rode quickly enough.
  4. Hello, I was the comm at the race. The data that SS recieved from SAS was corrupt and the results would not pull through. Because of this i would not sign off on the results. The only results that we could confirm was the overal and senior men & sub vets.( if you know anyone called Andre that raced he was the problem) From what i can understand it had to do with about 140ish online entries that had no data which then screwed up the results due to the seeding that had happened. It did not have anything to do with spectrum or the organizers of the event. What i would like is feedback on the marking as there was different veiws?? Rgds Terence
  5. Hello, These are very old boxxers, so in the web site it says that the yellow is med??
  6. I have a set of yellow springs in my sons boxxer (old) and he is only getting half of the travel on the fork. So i need to go to softer springs does anyone know the colours for soft and extra soft? And where can i get some????? Thks
  7. Loaded under results
  8. Thug I can not speak for the others but i do belive that i am doing a good job in MTB at CGC or am i wrong? Don,t seem to have many problems with our provincial or nationals that we put on!!!!!!!!!!! Open to good suggestions?
  9. Hello, A letter was sent out today with regard to the cancellation of the CGC provincial ROAD champs being can cancelled Not the MTB The Provincial XCO MTB champs are still taking place on sunday 15th at fountains PTA. Please see attached start times Provincial Start times.pdf
  10. You must just ask!!!! Details are now up on the CGC web site.
  11. I have used it for the Sani2C training, some strange ride times like trying to do 4.30 hrs on a tuesday? and then only 2hrs in sat/sun? But it has helped by keeping my training on track as i just have to beat the weekly totals, missed last weeks by 5 mins realy miffed!!!!!
  12. Hello, If this works then this is my graph for a craddle route ride(MTB) and i burned 2727 calories in 82Km
  13. How do you copy the graphs from the garmin site?
  14. Glad you have sorted out your problem. Even though it only cost R30 from dischem i still use the Gel as it does help and the bottle should last months Also the Calories burnt DOES count as i do not feel so Guilty abount the M&B slice of Choc cake afterwards
  15. Make sure the HR strap is tight otherwise you will get false readings, if you do not want electrode gel try good old spit as a base between body and strap?
  16. I have had problems with low HR readings and have changed everything, Big up to Garmin and there service center, as they changed the hard strap for a new one and when it did not stop changed the Edge 500 unit as well!!!! What i have started doing is using electrode gel on the strap and it has worked well since, though i have found that if the HR strap rides up? then i start to get low readings again. So i just push it back down( sounds wrong but it works) From your graphs your heart rate is all over the place so it will not calc correctly? Your Max is the same as mine, so you should know when you have reached it(sweating ,loss of vision, etc)on yours it spends quite a bit of time below 120 then up to 200 Try too get your readings more stable on your next few rides, i use the cadance rate as i guide as well to keep it in a zone 70- 90%
  17. I run the same set up and at 95Kgs i run 1.8-2 depending on the type of riding. i have found that any lower and the tyres will burp. i also do not like the fact that the tyres roll to much 2.2/2.4 on corners at the lower pressures. And if you are riding with a mix of rocks i prefer them to have the correct amount of air to keep it safe. on a HT it also gives you the suspension feel that a 29r should have
  18. Also saw the fire engines after the isscsa race RIP
  19. Hi, Ride the park now and then, met you on monday while talking to riaan. on my GF 29r F/s on a set of joined up tracks to make one lap it which would take +/- 20mins First time out on my SS did a 18min lap, Changing gears was making me slow and lazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I now stand while climbing and have learnt to flow better with the bike and look at what is coming up, and with a rigded fork your skill levels go through the roof. Can not wait till the 2nd
  20. Hello, I always enjoy this topic. I stand to be corrected but it it is law to wear a helmet when riding a bike in SA. As the saying goes " what do you call a rider without a helmet.............................someone who donates their organs!!!!!" I have stopped riders in races for not wearing helments and the comments that you get back can be quite alarming " its ok i will not fall off?" In MTB it is not if you will fall off but when. I went through 3 helmets in one year and on one crash it did save my life and i was only going less than 10km. A R200 or R2500 helmet is better than nothing Rgds
  21. Hi, A couple of helpful tips: 1. check your chain rings for burrs and file down, this will help a bit 2. Buy large head zip ties and tie onto your chainstay behind the chainrings, the idea is that the chain hits the zip tie head and falls down.(as taught by the great Gary Fisher himself) Little things make life easy Rgds
  22. hI, Have used the Mary bars for the last 6 mths, get laughed at a lot but they are soooooooooooooooo great. Best bars for when you are standing up on SS hands are in the best position, do not get neck pain any more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy
  23. Cat-i We try and keep the costs down ( 2011 R100) so do not use a online entry system, saying that i am looking at it for this year. I do have a budget for advertising this year so there will be more put out there. We will also be giving prize money for the classes, but you will have to do 4 out of the 5 to qualify. Watch out for a XCO warm-up series comming up good prizes for all classes,we will also try a Novice class for those new to XCO as the whole famaily can ride and you are not far from the pits if you have a problem. Rgds Terence
  24. Hello, I did post the combined CGC/GN XCO provincial event dates under the Events page, i will find it and bump up again. I will check why it is not up on the CGC website. Please check 2010 XCO/XCM provincial results on the web site aswell. We need to do a prize giving for the MTB only any suggestions??????? Rgds Terence
  25. Well at last it happened!!!! my Edge 305 started to give problems with just switching off mid ride or after a hard hit and not charging? I know the stories with this model, but it has given 3 1/2 good years service. Any way i was in Honeydew driving past their new offices so i thought why not go in and see if any thing can be done. "Sorry sir we can not repair!!!!!! BUT we can up grade you to a Edge 500 for R980 or the Edge 705 for R2500" What a bargin, roared home collected the 305 and traded it in on a new Edge 500 whole thing took 20mins to do. Now that is what i call service!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no jumping up and down and having to raise my voice. Very impressed with the new Edge 500 so much better than the 305 more information on the 3 pages of screens. Only bad thing is that it now tells me how long i stand around talking *** during a ride!!!! Big thumbs up to GARMIN
