  1. I understand your problem and I know lots of bike shop are not bothered to repair it. I use stan like MTB tubleless and it works well in small cut, but if the cut is big, throw it away. Tough luck! Rather use cheaper tubbies tyres, so that you can afford to replace it...
  2. Be careful when you buy from overseas because if something goes wrong, you will have to send it back where you bought it. Rather buy it in local because Garmin SA will support you... I bought mine from Eastern Cape MTB for R2900 (only R500 more to have peace of minds)
  3. Saw in Cyclelab website, it goes for R2900.....
  4. My wish list is that everybody need to focus to God's work, not just material lists...
  5. We can't just complain about CSA licence and we need to put more money to get our riders to the World Champs.. I hate when you get selected to ride for SA and you must still pay for flight or etc.... You deserve to go free because you worked hard to get there....
  6. They had to make sure if there is enough water and drinks along the road and at the finish. Also to avoid last minutes troubles (running out of numbers, time etc)
  7. It will add 100gr weight on your bike????
  8. It was interesting that I went thru Ride and Bicycling magazine for past 3 years and I only find "one" interesting page of the magazine in each month. I would like to hear more about:- - Contador's butcher's meat - Reports of Commonwealth games (Riders feedback) - Reports of John Lee, Daryl and Robert Hunter thru out the year - Local league races report - CSA news - Local SA Agents comments about CRC and CWC - Many more...
  9. I also struggled to get used to Garmin 500 because the set-up is different. I wish there was someone who can help me out with set-up!
  10. I better move to Specialized oneday....
  11. Why don't you ask your friend at UK to buy it and come down for holiday, then you will save flight ticket, vat and customs....
  12. Creatine is not worth it because it makes you heavy (not good for cycling)... I used it twice in 15years ago while doing canoeing and I noticed that it makes me aggressive and stronger. It does help to recover quickly, but it makes me bulker and heavy...
  13. It is difficult for the club to check each members... Maybe near the future, the club members must have number logo at the back of the top, so that one can report it to club and the club can sort that person out...
  14. Be careful not to fight back! Not worth it. Rather wave and smile! I remember few years back, one cyclist got angry, he slapped the bakkie window of the driver, who nearly put him off the road. The driver came out of the bakkie with real axe, so the cyclist had to cycle for dear his life! Luckily he managed to escape...
  15. Ask Gary Fisher who started MTB
  16. I do have spare speed sensor, so how much do you want to pay for it?
  17. You don't need spped sensor if you have powertap hub wheel. I use powertap hub wheel for training and speed sensor for racing. Try remove your powertap hub away from CPU and speed sensor. It should pick up! Go to setup 5 and make sure, change from watts to speed.
  18. Did you hear that 3 MTN pro guys went down breaking bones because of potholes....
  19. Anybody who use Garmin Edge 500 with powertap! Any problems or not???
  20. I use my motorbike on M3 everyday between Tokai and Cape Town. I do understand what is the problem. The traffic cop told me that I can go thru the traffic, but the speed must not be more than 40km/hr. But there are crazy bikers who do over 40km/hr.. I just pray for them because the graveyard is waiting for them... I also notice some drivers don't check at the back, they just want to jump the gaps without using indicators. Most of them use cellphone all the time and they don't concentrate enough....
  21. Wow! Now we must support the sponsor who put money in cycling.. Can't wait!
  22. Ha! ha! I renewed my membership about 3 weeks ago and I don't hear from them yet??? I still don't understand why do we have PPA in Western Cape, but in Joburg, Natal and Eastern Cape, they don't have PPA???? How do they do it?
  23. Look at Basso, Came back to win Tour of Italy.....
  24. Why is clothing is so expensive - 45%? It does not make sense.....
  25. I don't find both of them interesting. I notice that Ride is more from Joburg and Bicycling is more from Cape Town. I am sick tired of seeing Mighty mouse in both magazines every month. We need to hear or find out more on new rising young riders and their life. I also want to hear more about ex-pro riders, what happened to them??
