  2. Tragic. Driver needs to be jailed for 200 years. Total murderer. Trying to flee the seen clearly indicates that he has a senses about him. Of course it’s the wrong thing to do but it indicates that this was murder!
  3. 10-1 odds driver drunk and speeding. Looks like a very high speed accident. Driver careless. Hope riders had red lights at back..
  4. Where are the Ebike times? 18% of the field I believe was Ebikes. I saw a number of ebikes helping really tired and really broken people up some of the hills they were like Ebike angels as I would say. These people were finished it will push our a day it’s not gonna make any difference there right at the back slowest of the slow. More recognition needs to be given to the Ebike angels.
  5. Key word Human! Some people behave and live life morally consciously devoid of humanity.
  6. Thank you
  7. Anyknow the accent on Breeds from Heckport to the tiny cafe and back 60km more or less
  8. Taxis driver kill more people in South Africa than most war torn country in Africa according to statistics per year. The poor passengers take their lives in the hands of these wild drivers daily. Other road users are also at high risk - a common problem in Africa is a break down of law and order. Most African nations are more or less lawless and the same. The government lack the intellect or the rational to control Violent crime and lawless driving. So sad. I just came back from first world Switzerland where you can ride your bicycle safely and freely people drive carefully and it is it incredible experience and see a first world country.
  9. I have a gravel with 32 mm tires- it’s change my road riding - the bike is like a magic carpet ride I am a tad slower but finish a 105km fresh and smiling. If you not in the top 20% this bike makes SA roads and some smooth gravel and very smooth single track a real pleasure.
  10. Thank you that’s encouraging.
  11. Thank you for this - what groups time is group one ?
  12. Thanks very much. I try look for this on the web - I see this is for 3 hours. I hope to do it under 3:30 I was a bit stressed at the averages … lol ???? thanks again
  13. Does any know what is the timing along route to do it under 3:30 minutes? How do I locate that kind of thing ?
  14. Just make sure to attach a very clear pic as SA short term insurance company’s look for any excuse to not pay out or not to pay out what’s the bikes replacement cost is. Be sure to cross question in a email the insurance company though you’re broker who again can’t be relied on. (Brokers are only there to take your money and quick to buckle under pressure from the insurance company’s. ). The ombudsman’s is no longer impartial or autonomous the biggest underwriters have completely corrupted the system and literally pay their salary’s .
  15. With all the Ebikes and the massive growth in this market with waiting lists of e-bikes at stores world wide and the fastest growing bike segment in the world ref to USA/Eu and nearly 45% of Eurobike halls full of Ebikes - I suspect the nay sayers above in this thread we're the same old / young bunch that poopooed 29er wheels and tyres! All to soon these hard peddles will be alone on that big mountain with hundreds of happy fit healthy Ebikes flying past them doning more km, jumping more trailes and obviously showing empathy and pity to the bitter and bitterly slow riders trekking along. Happy riding folks.
  16. JMBC would like to encourage more people to ride their bikes with the club and enjoy the great outdoors. So to promote this initiative, JMBC is waiving visitors fees for the remainder of 2021. This is effective immediately for our organised club outrides (except bike parks). Please extend this invitation to family and friends so that they can also ride with you. Any former members are welcome too. (JMBC members still have their bike entry fees covered, subsided skills course and year end function and special events). We usually ride every Sunday morning and have ride groups. Join the Group that is the most suitable for your pace AND ability. To help new riders slot into the right ride group we normally ask how often they ride and the pace they are used to. E.g. The Green group (Beginner) rating would be similar to 2 x 12km green route at Northern Farm or 1 x 20km green route lap at Modderfontein bike park in about 2.5 hours. We suggest starting with a slower paced group for your first time to allow you to get familiar with the type of trails we ride which sometimes informs the pace and ability of the rider of that group. If you have brought a visitor, it is recommended that you ride with your guest the first time. Please check with the ride coordinator / leader if unsure. GROUP PACE AND ABILITY: GREEN: 8 - 11kms per hour - frequent stops - wait for slowest rider YELLOW: 11 - 13kms per hour - technically competent RED: 13 - 15kms per hour - can ride technical faster and with fewer stops BLUE: 15+ experienced and fit - can manage technical problems unassisted Green group will ride Green distance at a green pace Green group ride is subject to confirmation of rider numbers Visitors to sign riders indemnity. Have you got your ICE (in case of emergency) details easily available? Get an ICE wrist bracelet. Have at least ICE details on you. Please contact any of the committee members if you'd like more details or contact us at chairman@jmbc.org.za to be added to our Whatsapp Ride Group.

  23. I’ll find a similar thing my Garmin on an normal ride the unit tells me I need 70 hours of rest and then on a hard ride it can say 48 hours and sometimes on a long ride it says four days. I had the same thing with my old Garmin and now my new one. Personally I don’t think Garmin have it all sorted out.
  24. Specilized shoes are comfortable and very light. Check the specs - Sid shoes use bright colors and lots of “marketing hype”” … have owned a high end Sid pair got ride of them after a few months. Will not change. The Specilized S-works shoes ate completely over price now. But a few models it’s barely affordable.
  25. Yip had some lousy service from Garmin last month. Had me looking at other brands but their products are great and the service was also great in the past! It seems they dropping the ball. Repair / customer care management have forgotten who pays their salary’s.
