Agree 100% with the Terreno's if you going to stick mostly to the road for now. I fitted Aspens 2.4 front & back a while ago and so far so good, very happy with them, decent grip and relatively fast rolling also. Would also like to try the Racing Ralph & Ray combination, maybe when the Aspens are finished.

You and me both 🙈 I did a "sprint" at the end of our night ride last night, maxed my heart rate and only averaged 37.3km/hr for 780m on a flat piece of road .... ☹️. Was on a MTB, but still how these guys do it is super natural !!!

The only SCRAM I own is a NX 12 speed cassette on my indoor trainer where it actually doesn't matter. Will stick to Shimano everywhere else.

Seriously now, @Jaz Depending on where you in the country are and if your feet is size ~10, I can give you a pair of old Merida shoes and old Shimano SPD pedals (still working100%) to have and try for free. Let me know if you interested.

Only complaint I have on a SLX cassette is its weight. If you can, rather go XT, I previously bought two XTR cassettes on the hub, good condition & price.

Also, is Kyalami in a state to be able to handle this or is major maintenance & upgrades required?
