  1. Yes would also like to know ....
  2. I also replaced my tyres with 2.4 Aspen, love them so far.
  3. I built mine with a rigid fork so its pretty light, almost the same as my dual carbon bike so the weight is a non issue for me. Agree with Hairy, the geometry give more than the weight takes, you wont regret to go with a Rapide frame.
  4. I'm using Endure for a while now (gone through 4-5 tubs). Was not aware the Race/RacePro is also suitable for endurance rides, will certainly try that when my current Endure is finished.
  5. En 'n groene vir Wout sal ook baie nice wees dankie
  6. I hope you are wrong and Rog finds his best form very soon ....
  7. Get hold of someone you trust and have some good experience with MTB's to help you search for a used bike. You will get a lot more bang for your buck going used.
  8. My sincere sympathy, I will crack if they take my RM ...
  9. This is exactly the reason why I didn't ride with my pistol yet. I cant come up with a way to carry and be ready & quick enough in any possible scenario. I am however 100% in favor of defending yourself in any way possible & practical, for instance using your bike as a moering tool (again, if you have enough time to react), you can do some serious damage with a piece of carbon/aluminum/titanium/steel. It is important though to be on constant awareness & lookout for possible dangers and risky situations. I avoid riding trough risky spots as much as possible, and if I do, I'm on super high alert mode. imho, the worst thing you can do is hands-up and handover your bike. If we do the k@k will not stop !!! Unless of course you outnumbered and/or staring into the barrel of a gun.
  10. Got to see it, so close for the old man Valverde !
  11. DSTV Now is not playing ball ... 😒 Im going to miss the finish !!!
  12. I got one for you, not using it, and I'm much closer to home ... . DM me.
  13. https://cycledelic.co.za/ They also do it very well ...
  14. Thanks again Martin, it was a awesome ride.
  15. If its not Wout, Sagan would be a nice compromise .... .
  16. My feeling exactly ! Hope he comes back stronger than ever !
  17. I don't see a stability (pronation) version, so not going to work for me ...
  18. Not in this weather ... It will be properly MODDER !
  19. Thanks André, will get back to you.
  20. I have Race Face Next SL (older gen), meant for 2x but I use it as a 1x. Hence the stages single sided crank wont fit. My only options are to go pedal based, not a good idea on a MTB or change crankset together with something like a power2max. If I do decide to take the plunge, would rather go for dual sided.
  21. Considered it but cant justify spending ~R12k on that at the moment, not YET anyway ... 🙈😂 Edit: More than R12k actually, I would need to get a new crankset also ...
  22. I tried New Balance many years ago on the recommendation of a podiatrist. They were very good but didn't last for me, maybe I'm to fat/heavy compared to you 🙈. I got a lot better duty cycle from Asics. Edit: That was many years ago, maybe in the meantime they improved their durability.
  23. I'm in a very similar situation and always used Asics stability shoes. My GT2000 are also on there last legs. I decided to try Hoka, got a pair of Arahi 6, their mild stability shoe. So far so good, they are for sure softer and more comfy than the GT2000 but it is to early to give a conclusive verdict, only did 2 x 10km with them so far. I don't think however they going to have the life of the GT2000 though. There is a number of "nicer/softer" shoes out there, but for a lot of mileage like marathons/ultras, I still think Asics is the best. Sure the new Nikes are probably awesome. BUT the price tag ! and probably durability also not great. For the elite sponsered runners, not an issue, but for us plebs, not so much. Hope this help in some way ....
