Well, yes, with such regularity...no wonder Africa is drought-stricken. The mental image I had of Africa wasn't great. As a kid I was frightened that I would "go hungry like the children in Africa". I thought coming here was punishment for not finishing my dinner...

Remember that Standard Bank ad where the mom shouts at the kids to come in...and the streetlights come on. "But, Ma, it's a day-night game..." One thing that perplexed me as a kid soon after coming to this country would be seeing my mates all called in for supper and a bath...Then they'd 're-emerge a bit later dressed in their clean jammies, which didn't stay clean for long.

Sorry to hear that. Give the kids an extra big hug. :-(
