  1. Do you have a link for the video? I have been to their website and can't seem to find it!! Thanks
  2. I don't know but I think Graeme has been there for a long time and needs to go. From what goes around though he is very powerful in the cricket world and I don't think it will happen. I still think that boucher has missed out on being captain. He would be one of my choices. Good question though.
  3. Also going to try and make it for a day or 2. I think as long as biff is the captain they are not going to do as well as they can. He is past his sell by date and needs to step down. I saw the papers the other day and they were 100% correct. Headline was: The reason we lost. Smith. Exactly the reason we lost was cause of Smith.
  4. It's the new Bulls frame. The crank I ma using is the new 3X10 Sram and it is very specific to it's own BB. I tried a Shi*mano BB but it didn't even work with that crank. The best idea I have heard so far is locktite which I wil try in the new year. If that fails I will keep going.
  5. I did say. I said it was a new bike!
  6. Thanks will give it a try.
  7. I wish I could say it was not the BB as that would make it easy to fix. I have done all the necessary and it is the BB. Tried 3 different sets of pedals and the same thing. They also don't make the noise on my other bike so easy to rule out.
  8. I think the issue maybe what the 2 items are made of!!! One is metal (the bike) and the other is the BB which seems to be some kind of very hard plastic. The way the sram BB works is on the OFF drive side. That is where most of the noise comes from. The left drive leg which I think in my case is my stronger leg. It might just need to bed in but I don't think so. Will call the agents for sram when they open next week and see what they can help me with. I have another BB so might try it and see what happens. There must be a product out there which prevents this from happening though. I will find it. Just a matter of going through the process.
  9. It is 100% the fitting of the cup inot the bike. It is a sealed bearing in the sram press fit bearing so not an option to open it. I just need to find a product that will stop the squeak without doing any damage to the press-fit. I will keep going with some suggestions here. Thanks for the options I will try them. It will not beat me.
  10. PTFE as in thread tape? It is not the pedals. I have checked the crank and even tried to tighten a little more. Nothing seems to be working here. It is a very tight fit but still creaks. The BB is a sram one as is the crank. 3X10. The proper BB for it. It all fits just nice but there is the creak. It is pretty annoying but will try thread tape and see how this goes. It might just be the 2 types of material but I don't want to accept defeat here. There must be a way.
  11. I have a new bike that takes a press-fit BB. The first time around I coated the inner of the bike and outer shell of the BB with Copper Slip. I heard this was the stuff to use to stop the creaking and ceaseing of the BB to the frame. No go. It creaked. So took it out cleaned it all up and tried grease. Seems to be the same problem. Anyone got any ideas on what to use to stop this. It is only when I am standing or putting extreme force on the crank. It is all the correct fittings and tightened to the correct values. Any usefull info here would be much appreciated. Thanks
  12. The XTR cranks have a spacer on the drive side to fix this. It should have been on the crank already?!?! Maybe the bike it was taken off was set differently. It is a small plastic piece that fits on the spline of the crank. About 2 mm or so thick. You will probably need to get one to make it all work properly. Putting spacers on the BB might also fix the problem but I have never tried it that way. My Epic also needed it to work properly as it had a press-fit BB and you can't really put spacers on that. I have one but I see you a bit far from CT!!!
  13. I doubt you will ever know. It would take a sizeable study to work out exact figures. Evebn then it would probably vary from person to person. Just know they are the best and give you the most controll of your bike!
  14. It would have hurt much if that headset came off while riding. NAME AND SHAME THEM.
  15. Depends on what they use to sand blast it. I think they can now use stuff which doesn't work your product so hard. Check around with the shops before you get it done. I know it is called sand blasting but they now use all sorts of things to take off the offending material.
  16. Mostly elbow grease but it is hard to come by
  17. They were open and very helpful. Got the part I needed and it came in quite cheap. Thanks very much to Cape Cycle Systems.
  18. Thanks as well!!
  19. Thanks
  20. Who are the Sram agents in South Africa please?
  21. Just got to Tokai and ride. You will meet loads of people on the trails. Try and hook up with a bunch that are going your speed. Chat to them. Most slower riders are pretty friendly and easy to chat to. It's the fast racers that don't have the time to chat..
  22. I have a XL 2008 Stumpjumper for sale. It is very well specked and is a great bike. If you keen to check it out sedn me a PM and I can show it to you. I am in Century City Cape Town. You can see it with no obligation of course. It will be easier for me to talk you through it than try and explain it to you over the forum.
  23. On what do you base your assumptions about me? You know nothing about me. I don't care what you call me. It is of no interest to me. For all I know you could be Lance's PA. He is retired form the sport and now makes money out of showing his face. He does not make any money out of cycling anymore. He is retired.(AGAIN) I base my assumptions on him about the millions of articles about him. I have chosen the side I want to be on and I think he is a big headed prick. My statement was that I wonder how he is going to ride the Epic when he thinks he can earn money for his face being on tv. The Epic is already way over subscribed. I cannot see Keving giving Lance any money for being in his race. I rode the Epic this year and as I said everyone was very friendly and good to be around. Even the big name riders. From what I gather about Lance he is going to make the race a media nightmare and probably harder for all the riders to just be there and have fun. As for Lance still being interested in the sport I couldn't disagree more. He choses very carefully what he wishes to do and does it. Lance is only about money and nothign else. If you were on fire in the street he would see what he could earn out of it before he helped. That is my view of him.
