  1. http://blog.er24.co.za/2011/07/two-people-airlifted-by-medicopter/ For anyone that actually read the title and wants to know about the actual story and not all the crap that followed. Seems he wil make a full recovery which is good news.
  2. The front deraileur is not right?
  3. There was another crash at Tokai on Saturday morning. It was where the tar starts on the way to the mast. The TMNP truck passed me first and then 2 EMT vehicles. I didn't know then but carried on. When I got to the tar section the guy was on the ground with the medics and a few other guys. He was moving his arms and legs but his face was not looking very good. I didn't stop as I would have only congested the road. I carried on to the mast and then down. As I was approaching the accident scene the red ER 24 helicopter was landing. They got there pretty quick. So well done to them. The guy was loaded in and sent on his way. I asked the medic for an update and he said the guy was going to be ok. That is all I know. Well done to TMNP for sending up a vehicle and ranger. Not sure what he could have done but good to see they had an interest in their mountain. Well done to the medics for sorting this guy out. Lastly it was pretty awesome to see the helicopter come in and land and do what they do. Just a pity about the circumstances why they were there. I hope they guy has a speedy recovery.
  4. They have just re-done all the drainage sections this week. I rode up there yesterday and thought they were very abrupt. I hope the guy is ok.
  5. Try the Egg Beaters. 5 Years for me and very happy with them.
  6. That mag really is rubbish. I used to buy it about 3 years ago. Now I would rather read my toilet paper.
  7. Not sure if I would like one of those on my head!!
  8. For shocks I send it to Lance at Epic cycles. He does it right the first time every time. I used to use Omnico but agree with you 100%

    Crashes

It's on all the time. Just check your pvr and record it.
  10. You must know what you are doing, cause I sure as hell wouldn't build my own frame. When I am doing 50km/h down a piece of dirt track on my mtb I want to know that there has been some considerable effort gone into the production of the frame so that it doesn't break beneath me. I commend you on your task and if you decide to use another link to report your progress please let us know as I will be looking out for it. This is definately one I am going to watch. Once again good luck and I will be watching your progress with much anticipation.
  11. Why does no one take the law to this guy? If the cycling bodies are turning a blind eye then sue the chap. Lay charges of assault. Lay charges of damaging others property. I know this country is slack in the law but maybe if he has enough charges against him and his family he might see some jail time. It may be in the future but worth a try??
  12. Specialized 2Bliss Controlls. You won't look back. Unless you have fallen down and you are infront of the bike!!
  13. Another good shop is Crown Cycles. They are reasonable and do good work. They have helped me many times. Mark is the mechanic there and he knows his stuff.
  14. I would take the Scott.

I have the X0 10 speed and it has never faulted me. It runs very smoothly and never needs any adjustments. Maybe the person who set your friends up needs a little help!! I did mine myself and voila. Probably run about 2500-3000kms on it and it is puuuuurrrrrfect.
  16. +1 Best tyre I have ever used. Not doing the Sani but that is the tyre I would use if I was.
  17. Take that photo and give it to Bryan the guy who checks the tickets at the gate. Tell him there is a reward if he calls you with info on the bike. He is a super nice guy and is there often so he has the best chance of getting an eye on it. (just a thought)
  18. Hope Hubs are the business. I have had 2 sets and apart from riding over a landmine they are bullet proof. Check CWC for prices. I got my last set from him for a good price. He normally has most of the colours available as well. Enjoy the rims I have the same set and 100% happy.
  19. Dude... that's HOT!

  22. That's it then. Lots of guys sell frames here. Go to a few bike shops and leave your name if guys go in there trying to sell their frames. Make sure you are specific about the travel. Some frames can go 100-120mm without too much hassle. Good guys to speak to are Lance from Epic bike shop, the guys at Crown Cycles I think his name is Mark. Otherwise keep posting your questions and I am sure people will help you. Take your time on the frame and fork. They are going to be the biggest part of your riding and once you have them you must be happy with them no matter what anyone says. I recently did my first complete bike build and I am very happy with it. (Bulls 29er) One more thing.. forget about your budget right now. You are going to over shoot it. That is not negotiable.
