  2. For me it's more about the waiting. Not very patient.
  3. I'm away this weekend but on Sundays there is a group of us SS that ride the spruit at 8. It's more of a chilled fun ride as we all rack up the miles on Saturdays. You welcome to join us. Pm me for details.

  8. Will have to do this race again one day. It was the first ever MTB race I ever did way back in 2005 Filled in last minute for a friend, but had played a rugby game against the Bulls sub union side the night before and was already broken at the startline, where I fell twice thanx to never having worn cleats before. This race finished me off and it took 4hrs to finish the 35km route. And I never rode again for 3 years.
  9. Thanx bud have to admit im a big fan of your work.

  12. Yeah Long drop was good fun, had to stop just before that little river crossing after top loop joined the bottom to shake some feeling back into my fingers. Also what was left of the 5lt sherry bottle on my back was so shook up it had more head than Hugh Heifner.
  13. That was my singing Ruldoph that was on my bike over December.
  14. Oh and about Sani on it. I have done 2 multi day events on it including SabeX and 3 24hr races and no issues infact the more misarble the conditions (Muddy, gnarly) the better off I was. You just need some TIS to build up a tolorence in palms, wrists and elbows. (ESI chunkies help) The GT doesn't run a suspension fork easily, so keep that in mind. Other frames are more suspension friendly.
  15. Yeah I was lucky enough to get one with horizonetal dropouts. I have enough issues with normal BBs not lasting. I'm not little and like to jump alot, also mash my pedals (not a smooth cyclist) So the EBB version would not work for me. Have had a rush of blood to the head every now and then and thought I might sell it but could honestly not think what I would replace it with that would be as simple, comfortable and fun to ride.
  16. Dont forget you also got: Where the trail ends Strength in numbers Some Chris Akrigg and Danny Mac clips, 199 lives (I know its not MTB but Travis P is a legend)
  17. +1 I may have to spend a little time in CT

  20. nothing?
  21. look Rouxtjie you not the only one who falls for no good reason on a nice flat section.
  22. Hi guys Well it started with the bearings on my front hub being stuffed. The price you pay when you weigh 100kgs and jump you bike with a rigid fork off every obsticle you can find. Yes like a small child. (There was alot of lateral play in the wheel and the bearing were being to squeak and there was excess friction, especailly on the uphills.) Anyway got quotes from two LBS (wont name them cause they are both actually great shops I get great service from them and the quotes are actually fair enough when you consider what genuine parts cost and their labour) The quotes I got were: LBS 1: R 380 LBS 2: R 400ish Didnt wanna spend that much money on something I was sure I could do myself. So I stripped the hub The bearings looked pretty standard so off to BMG. So R70-00 and 20 mins later. Now before I get scolded, I know that any warrenty is now void, and I have hugely devalued the wheels.I know that these bearings are probably not as good as the original DT Swiss one. But I have been through two rims on these wheels and they are already as far from original as possible. I would love to have used my LBS but just didnt hav ethe extra cash at the time and thought what the hell let me try. Ok bring on the uitkak
