  1. No offence, but you weight WAY more than your bike. A bunnyhop is just you moving and taking your bike with you. I don't see how a full-susser will make that impossible. More difficult, yes, but not THAT bad. See here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpYpT5Esl9w
  2. It's pretty easy to get the experience. Just go out and do it! I started playing around with trials around Nov last year. I've made lots of progress and it really has helped normal riding. Just start with the basics - balance. then take it further - pedal kicks, hopping etc. The full-susser may not be ideal to learn on, but don't tell me you can't practise a trackstand on it, or practise short, powerful pedal strokes to get the front wheel up. Same with DJ. There's jumps, so go ride them. Start small and go bigger as you get more comfortable. If you build the skills and experience you want, you won't have to wish for it.
  3. I don't know about you guys, but if litter fell out of my pocket and someone pointed it out to me - even if they had a sh!t attitude about it - I would be extremely embarrased, as well as very apologetic and thankful that it has been pointed out to me, giving me the opportunity to fix my error. Hence my belief that our new friend here is guilty of littering.
  4. Would it be safe to say that the gel has hit the fan?
  5. Is the icycling website still running btw? I thought it had closed down, but I may have you confused with someone else.
  6. Well done JB! And I agree on the wheels!
  7. Road or mtb? There's the normal FPC and 'Lab rides, and I know of 2 guys that do regular weekend mtb outrides out of Lonehill. Have done some good distances with them (50km+).
  8. I know! It's terrible! Doesn't help that the seat is pointed straight at my balls either!
  9. I can honestly say that I've become obsessed with Trials. I spent (fairly) big bucks on a Trials bike, just ordered a bunch of extra goodies for it, and since December I've been on the Goose only about 2 or 3 times. I've been spending a lot of time on the Trials course. Hell, I even helped build the damn thing! Initially my reason for getting into Trials was so I can build skill that I can transfer to XC-type riding. So yesterday I had this urge to take the Goose out for a spin. Get back from work, quickly get into my baggies and put on my shoes. Jump on the bike, ride up to the gate and pull the front brake... ... and the entire thing COLLAPSES. After getting a huge fright, I check the fork, and everything is in order. Turns out that's just how it feels to have more than 40mm of super-hard travel. Right, get back on the bike, start riding down the road. I start realising how high this thing is. I feels like I'm going to bump my head every time I go under a tree, and the center of gravity feels high enough that I'll just fall over at any given moment. Luckily by the time I get to the park (about 5 minutes) I'm starting to get used to the bike again. I set the fork to its hardest setting and hit the trails. I never realised just how badly the seat gets in the way. I have no room to move on the bike! Also, my weight feels so far forward I'm just picturing the endo I'm going to do at any moment. I can't turn the thing, can't lean into corners, can't lift the front wheel like I'm used to... After about 40 minutes of hammering through the trails I was used to the bike again, but my confidence is pretty low. I think I'll fit it with flat pedals this weekend and start riding it more often. I still prefer Trials, but it's embarrasing that I can backwheel-hop my Trials bike, but I can't go around a corner on my XC bike!
  10. Oooohhhh....KOXX....they sponsor Vincent Hermance Careful when you post video's of trials riding' date=' or anything not XC. People are scared of it around here. Apparently being able to do 35km/h on a flat gravel road for an hour straight is better than being able to pedalkick-jump over obstacles and gaps. 11. the perennial? I've got 2 pairs of those, and they don't work that well for me. Let's just say that I've sat down on things no man should EVER sit down on after getting out of the saddle with these! The Hoss shorts are great, sometimes they get a little hot on long distances though.
  12. Before you open it, maybe lubricating the piston from the outside with mineral oil or DOT fluid, depending on what the brake uses. What brake is it?
  13. Ah okay. I thought of getting through CRC but didn't want to risk getting an uncomfortable size.
  14. That is beautiful! My next bike (if it's not a trials bike) will have one of those seatposts! Those don't look like 5050 pedals though? Word or advice - if you haven't got the 5050's yet, rather get the Shimano DX's. I went that route on my trials bike, and the difference is pretty big. The DX's with long pins grip like no flat pedal I've ever felt!
  15. 2 Questions: In the first pic, who does the GT belong to? And how badly did you wreck the bike about 0.25 seconds after that pic was taken?
  16. Will do so soon' date=' its in different parts now, been upgrading it a bit... Dude it was great to ride with you guys on the weekend, that Martin dude is nowordsinmymouth GOOD!!![img']https://assets.bikehub.co.za/legacy_images/smilies/smiley36.gif[/img] Yes, Martin is insane, LJ is very good as well, and young Jason is a monster in the making! Was great fun at the skate park. We should do the one in Sunninghill soon.
  17. Hey Ruan! Why don't you post a pic or one of your singlespeeds?
  18. IT'S PINK!!! I don't care who says what. Seriously dude, either you have too much to say, or not enough work to do.
  19. Not only will it be nice, but when your bike looks like that you can't help having fun whenever you get on it! You'll laugh like a kid every time you see the bike!
