  1. If you have to ask, then YOU have to give way, noob!
  2. That's 'cause you don't have a Marzocchi!
  3. Are you fishing for a lift? You want me to pick you up?
  4. That explains why the guys at gmail phoned me to ask if I was still alive...
  5. Newtown IS nearby! Will speak to the guys about maybe doing Rosebank or Cresta again, but I think we're due to do Pretoria again first.
  6. Don't worry about skill, I have next to none and I'm going!
  7. If it's a hydraulic V, then it should be the HS33. I think Cycles Africa is the distro for these. Just go to your LBS and ask them to order a few olives. Shouldn't cost much. Then get a bleed kit. A universal one should do the trick. They take normal mineral oil, although you can order Magura Blood - which is Magura's stuff. Apparently it's a little better than normal stuff, but I think that's just their marketing guys that say that.
  8. Is this on the HS33? If yes, then really simple. Cut the hose with a knife, as straight as possible. Put a new olive on the hose, and bolt the cable back in. You may need to bleed it again. On the HS33's you can actually pull the cable out and reconnect it without bleeding the brakes again - as long as the lever wasn't pulled.
  9. Looks like I'm in! Rumour has it there may be some very talented riders joining...
  10. If the goal is FR/AM type riding, then the Teocali for sure. BUT, for a beginner a hardtail may be better to learn on. If you can do the technical stuff on a hardtail properly first, you'll be much better off.
  11. The pre-2008 Canaan had frame issues, and the warranty is not transferable to the second owner. I haven't heard of any issues with Teocali frames. FWIW, my Meteore Comp frame has been perfect the last 2+ years. It even survived the dirt jumps in Mealstrohm at Logwood, which anyone that has ridden them will know where not very smooth. The frame has actually outlasted 2 forks already.
  12. Johan, if there's more demand for the morning course, I should be able to change over to the afternoon if needs be.
  13. The Teocali for sure. They're not even almost in the same league. The Comp is pretty entry-level, but it's WAY better than the Otero. I'm not sure about the amount of riding though. Judging from the scratches on the barends it's scraped along the ground once at least. And the fork looks like the colour on the stanchions is coming off - not really a bad thing as long is they're not scratched, but it looks pretty well used.
  14. When you leave the clubhouse, going down the tarred section, keep right and then it's on your right hand side. You'll see some wooden pallets and balance beams and stuff there. It was blocked off last time I was there because they're busy with the new track there. We normally do trials sessions on Sunday afternoons, although not always at the park. You're welcome to join. I'd recommend bringing a hardtail.
  15. Logwood was great, but the Bryanston park pretty much killed it. The only route I didn't love at Logwood was 12 Steps, and that was because I felt sorry for my bike on that one. But yes, when I started riding, 2 years ago, most of it was done at Logwood. I guess you could say I grew up there.
  16. I agree Minty, very cool.
  17. On weekends it tends to be a bit chaotic with all the kids, but late afternoons during the week are awesome - especially when everyone else is stuck in traffic. I'm usually on the Trials course, so don't get to experience too many kids. We did have them running around on the Trials once. Was waiting for one of them to bail.
