  1. Please add Mrs. Hog to the list. We'll do the short route and the braai afterwards.
  2. Hmmmmm...... I don't do print design any more, only interactive/digital, but I am passionate about cycling! Also, I'm not exactly junior/mid level any more either. How about this - you pay me a whopping salary and I'll provide my expertise and ideas, take regular 2-hour lunches to visit my LBS, regularly leave early to go riding, and pitch up late because I like to sleep?
  3. Uhm, sorry to be a doofus, but that the hell does this have to do with Pink Floyd?
  4. Order one from Marinobike. You supply the geometry and specs, Marino builds it, ships it to SA. http://www.marinobike.com I was seriously considering this before I got the GT.
  5. Just put them in the spare room/bedroom/lounge/kitchen. I tried to convince my wife that the bikes will make excellent wall hangings and they'll be great conversation pieces when we have guests over. The fight is still on.
  6. Got 2 bolts that JKM had in stock, total cost of R6. Fine, they're not allen-key but I don't really care. The seat on the GT is there to protect my nuts if something goes wrong, not to sit on (which is what I did wrong in the first place). If it doesn't hold I'll get the proper bit made up out of titanium of kryptonite or something. Hog_2009-03-11 04:18:54
  7. Thanks JB! Not going to bother phoning first, trying to explain over the phone will be useless. I'm in advertising, I don't know **** about thread pitch and stuff like that. I'll just go there with the 2 pieces and tell them to make me one of those.
  8. I put new pads in the Hope M4's on my GT. I can tell you guys on good authority that a 205mm rotor with new pads will vibrate to badly that your hands go numb!
  9. Guess I'll have to make a weekend out of it, get my passport ready.
  10. JB, you know of any bolt shops in the Sandton/Hurlingham/Bryanston area? I don't really care about finish, I just want to ride this afternoon.
  11. I broke the bolt that goes into that little round thingymabob under the seat to connect it to the seat post. When I went to the hardware store to get a replacement I found that the thread on the bolt is very thin for the diameter of the bolt (if that makes sense). Where do I find a replacement?
  12. Me too. A broken seat, crash on the half-pipe thing, and plenty of near-deaths is no way to end a Sunday afternoon!
  13. NEXT SESSION: Sunday 15 March 2009, Bryanston bike park, from 15h00
  14. http://www.sabbatini.co.za/
  15. The only one I've dealt with has been Honeydew Toyota on Beyers Naude' date=' they were very good. Speak to Wayne. Hog, does he by any chance drive a mettalic blue and silver Daihatsu Feroza with some branding on??[/quote'] Didn't see what he drives, was too busy getting drool all over the floor in front of an F40 they we're busy with.
  16. Giulio Sabbatini's Autostylists. I can recommend them fully. Giulio is an oldish Italian gentleman. I had my Golf's bonnet repaired there, the insurance only wanted to pay for a non-original or second-hand bonnet. the way Giulio went off, you'd think they insulted his mother. He refused to do the work! Also, the work was perfect. The colour matched perfectly, all panels aligned 100% etc. My car was the only budget mobile there though, everything else was Ferrari, Lamb, Porsche, etc.
  17. I think a fake ID costs less.
  18. Alligator bleed kits are also about R300, comes with bits for most brakes.
  19. Needs a nicer seat post, but otherwise it's seriously pimp! Well done!
  20. Seems like the behavioural problems may stem from something deeper then. As far as I understand, noise comes from vibration. Get rid of the vibration, get rid of the noise. Are the rotors true? Are all the bolts secure? How about the hub bearings? Are the brake pads installed correctly? Is there any movement anywhere that seems out of the ordinary when the brakes are engaged?
  21. Scream back at it, let it know that you're the boss.
  22. I'm working, what's your excuse?
