  1. Scooterza, where do you live? I'll personally supply you with as many frame-pumps as you need to take care of idiots like this.
  2. It's a little longer than a bike, but the step is also about 2 pallets higher, which will help. But yes, for more advanced riders it shouldn't be too tough.
  3. It's a little more than a bike length, I think. It'll be a challenging jump for most. The nice thing is the balance beams connect most of the rig together. Let us know when you can come through then we'll have some fun.
  4. Thanks! Lotsa fun, although not many people are brave enough to try it. The kiddies seemed to like running around on it, we didn't have the heart to chase them away. It really is great fun, and very rewarding when you pull off something new.
  5. Wow. Just frikken wow. It doesn't seem THAT huge when you're on it. We can probably have 2/3 guys on the rig at the same time and they won't be in each others' way. I love it! I had a few beers last night on a job well done. Think I should have had a few more now that I see this.
  6. Is the front wheel raise or on the ground? Try putting a phone book under the wheel. Otherwise, think of it as a great excuse to get out of the house and ride!
  7. Judging by the massive amount of replies in this thread I'll have the place to myself! Sweet! (bump)
  8. Just ride the race rigid.
  9. I had a wheel rebuilt there, will see if it's any good once I pick it up. 1st gripe was they didn't phone me, I had to phone them.
  10. It's right as you get to Joburg, just off of the highway - William Nicol offramp.
  11. Something different this Sunday! We're taking to the streets of Rosebank to look for fun riding spots. Everybody is welcome, absolute beginners to advanced riders. The more experienced guys will also share their knowledge and give pointers along the way, so see it as a free skills clinic! NEXT SESSION: Host:Trial Bikers of South Africa Date:22 March 2009Time:15:00 - 18:30Location:RosebankStreet:corner of Keyes ave and Walters aveTown/City:Johannesburg, South Africa Phone:0846571582Email:peartonc@gmail.com Urban Trials ride even if you just enjoy jumping pavements ====== Original post: Anyone interested in Trials riding, come along for some fun at the Bryanston Bike Park this Sunday at 16h00. Nothing hectic, we'll just be having some fun and learning some tricks in the Trials playground. Don't worry if you can't do Trials, I can't either. we can practice trackstands together. You don't need a special bike to learn the basics either. Just put your seat down and you're good to go. Flat pedals are also a good idea. Hog_2009-03-17 00:40:50
  12. another spider incident? Nah, this time I'm innocent. If a spider jumped on me while riding you'd see me ejecting from the bike at whatever speed, slapping myself, and trying to land on top of the 8-legged monstrosity when I hit the ground.
  13. Uhm.... My name isn't Justin!
  14. Amen brudda. XC is soooo 1994. (Road is soooooo 1940) 1994? You mean the reason real mountain bikers wear baggies is this?
  15. Well I am still carrying a bit of extra weight, you skinny little .
  16. Sweet I'll let you know when I fork up the rotor!
  17. In my relentless efforts to prove the Berghof equation I've subjected myself to great personal sacrifice. I've lost money, I've made a fool of myself, I've slept on the couch, I've woken up with a monkey playing the flippen snare drum INSIDE my head (still need to figure out how it got in there) and I've ruined many a good Sunday's riding. However, I'll not be deterred by such hardships. I'll carry on, until one day I can answer the question: 'Just how much beer is enough?' Currently my answer stands at 'Just one more', but that's not very scientific. Hog_2009-02-23 13:28:49
  18. I've tried that excuse to get out of doing the dishes. I ended up having to buy new crockery. Not cool.
  19. I've also only had hassles with FPC. One week I'm there looking for a post-to-post 180mm adapter, the guy brings down an IS-to-post. After explaining the different to him, he tells me they don't have post-post. A week later, I'm looking for the IS-to-post adapter that I held in my hand a week earlier, so I phone them, and apparently now all they have is post-to-post. I've given up.
  20. I had the Smarties, which are seriously low budget. I knocked the body on all kinds of rocks and stuff, and it never broke. They're made of a soft plastic that doesn't snap so they last. When my Smarties finally died I got a pair of 2007 Candy SL's off CRC, and they are great! Mud = no problem.
  21. Oh yes, great idea. Let's drag Hog up the hill that ends all hills, and let him descend when he's too tired to talk normal, THEN pump him full of food and beer and let him drive home way past his bed time... I'M IN!! (Oh, I don't have lights, so I'll have to ride in front. You're all going to have to wait for me!)
