    2013 Knysna 300

Does anyone know when entries for the 2013 event open and cost/packages ? I don't see any info on the garden route events website.
  2. The frames will be made in Pietermaritzburg. I don't see how expressing an opinion different to yours is being snotty but we are all entitled to our own views I guess.
  3. I would think they did their homework before deciding on their price points, either way imo i don't see the Pyga as comparable to other mass produced, made in Taiwan brands and that is why I've ordered one.
  4. It's in a box waiting for a frame so I haven't ridden it yet. I've currently got a Fox fork and have been very happy with it. I've had a set of American Classics, was happy with them apart from free wheel body trouble.
  5. I'm in 2 minds between Stan's ( not sure which ones) with Hope hubs or Mavic Crossmax 29er's. Most important for me is strength and reliability then weight. Opinions ?
  6. I bought a Fox Talas 29er, 120mm. Thinking Mavic Crossmax 29er wheel set and then just waiting for the OneTen frame set, bring on June.
  7. Yes, you collect from your nominated LBS.
  8. So which wheels did you eventually go with and how have they performed. I am looking for a 29er wheeleset for the Pyga One Ten29er I am going to build up, I'm leaning towards the Mavic though, I'm told they are stronger and that is most important to me.
  9. I've ordered my OneTen29er frame set, can't wait, it's also my 1st 29er.
  10. I have a C seeding for adventure, also from J2c i assume, shame my poor wife
  11. Agree, the route is not as soft and cushie as people think. On day 8 of Joburg2c I got a sidewall puncture in Conti X King UST and on day 9 my brother tore his RR snakeskin.
  12. Couldn't agree more, most important is quality of the program. I was just in the top 100, going to ride, not race
  13. Time will tell. I finished it last year.
  14. I don't think it needs to be a sufferfest, I do think the way it's been handled by the 3 Towers and Berg & Bush crew is better though, give the riders that want it a really tough course and those that don't a shorter option. I have a demanding job, 2 young kids and still make time to get about 10 hours a week in the saddle and enjoy a more challenging course. Having said that by day 8 of Joberg2c I think I I'll prefer the easier day with less climbing
  15. I also think races like 3Towers & Berg and Bush offer a better solution by offering a shorter version of the main race
  16. Sani2c route profiles are out and it seems like they have dropped about 600 m ascent from day 2, I recall a post about Sabie experience being shortened. Are stage races being made easier to accommodate the masses ? I personally prefer a bit more of a challenge, interested to hear others views.
  17. You can't compare the 2 courses, but I would say Rietvlei is far more technical in sections
  18. Checked Frankfort and Reitz on yr.no and it says we are in the clear, let's hope so
  19. 100%, we will have to suck it up and ride whatever happens
  20. Joburg is fine, check Frankfort, Reitz and Harrismith over 27th, 28th and 29th
  21. Accuweather has been anything but accurate at times in the past, lets hope they are wrong, unfortunately 2010 shows that rain is very possible
  22. So been on accuweather, according to the long term forecasts we could be in for some rain over the 1st few days. Hopefully their forecast is wrong. Can anybody recommend a good rain jacket ?
  23. Ya it pisses me off, it is so siff, inconsiderate chops
  24. Go with the 2011 bike, not even a question, SRAM X7 vs Shimano XT, I would always go with the best group set possible.
  25. Go to www.joberg2c.co.za click on the media tab, then you tube, they have daily highlights from all stages.
