  1. Thanks raptor, I did search and nothing came up ? I typed in Bryton vs. Garmin, 1 result on a review for a different model Bryton ? Oh well, thanks for the link
  2. Hi All, I'm looking at buying a GPS bundle, I would like to know if anyone has experience with the Bryton Rider 35 ? The Rider 35 is selling at R2,600 for the bundle vs. the Edge 500 at around R2,800 so much the same. Any feedback would be welcome. Thanks
  3. No I wouldn't expect the whole group to wait, what would be common courtesy is for 2 or 3 riders to wait, I'm not talking about someone helping the guy change the tube, simply not being stuck in the dark by yourself becoming the next victim of a bike jacking or mugging i.e. safety in numbers. Just my 2c use it or don't
  4. I have heard that Cool heat (Shimano) have containers stuck in customs at the port in Cape Town, not sure if this might have something to do with the delay ?
  5. ps, Tread is the best magazine on the market, it has brilliant content, is not copy pasted from a back issue of an American magazine and is not covered in ads.
  6. I actually support Sean on this one, he makes some very good points. The biggest difference between a roadie and a mountain biker is the attitude towards a fellow rider eg. On the morning ride with the roadie bunch a guy punctures, many guys see this, nobody stops to help, he is left to change the tube in the dark by himself, same scenario while out mountain biking would result in every single person who rides past the punctured rider offering help, I have seen this on many occasions. I am so gatvol of the *** roadie attitude that is seen most of the time, is it so hard to greet a fellow cyclist ? It always seems that a training ride ends up being a pissing contest as to who is the strongest rider. I know not all roadies are like this but there are certainly enough out there to deserve the bad name. Flame away !
  7. Agree the licensing is such a pain in the ass, I have a CZ83 which I would like to sell and then get a Glock, oh well, nothing wrong with the CZ so will just keep it.
  8. As far as I know Reidrat is not designed to be used as an energy drink during a race, I use it for recovery on stage races after each day and it is great for that. I have a friend who used it as an energy drink during a long ride and "overdosed" on it, to many electrolytes, don't know to much about it though, maybe somebody else can elaborate.
  9. Hey Luke, glad you're ok, this is getting to much. Where exactly on the route were you, I was there last Sunday for a ride, scary stuff man. Cheers, Marc G
  10. I would also be interested to see your source of data, if it is of no benefit then why would a medical doctor administer it for the use I have described ? As I have said its use as an immune booster is common place.
  11. Does anyone know if it is available at Dis-Chem they are usually very well priced ? Will then take it to the doc to inject.
  12. Details please Eldron, that is cheap. My GP said something interesting though, apparently the locally made generic is better as it combats the SA "bugs" better than the Beriglobin, any thoughts ?
  13. Very interesting, you're quite right, my GP gave me the injection so I would never see the leaflet. Surely a product like this would not be a problem for a professional cyclist ? or is it on the banned list ? As I've said it's a commonly used product by Comrades runners.
  14. Just to be clear its not a stimulant of any nature, it's a human blood product commonly used by comrades marathon runners to boost your immune system before a big event i.e. you don't want to put 6 months of training into an event only to get sick the week before causing you to pull out. TNT1 IS 100% correct I am a fun rider, I finished just in the top 100 in Joberg2C so definitely not used for performance enhancement.
  15. Well done Mr Nature, this is the 1 st year 3 Towers entries have sold out ? I'm sure that with a race of this quality it will turn into a Sani2c in the future. Has the route been finalized ? When can we expect profiles or is it the same as last year, use the one on the website ?
  16. Hi All, Has anyone used Beriglobin or Human Immune Globulin (HIG) I used it a few weeks before Joberg2C to give my immune system a boost, I'm thinking of using it again before 3 Towers. Has anyone else used it or does anyone have any opinion on whether it is affective or not ?
  17. Second question, do you ride with the pistol loaded with the safety on or one up with the hammer down, or unloaded ? Speed is obviously of huge importance but at the same time I don't want a 9mm hollow point in my leg if I have a serious fall, bit of a catch 22.
  18. The pistol is blued steel, not sure if sweat would be a problem ? Will do a Google search and see what I come up with, thanks.
  19. Does anyone know where I can get a good holster for my pistol that I would be able to use when I ride (I have a CZ 83, 9mm short). The holster I have is fine for day to day use but not great for the bike. Thanks.
  20. I'm very happy with my Bell Sweep, very comfy.
  21. Got the MK 2 on my wife's bike so they definitely available locally, puncture protect only though, no UST to be found.
  22. Any updates ?
  23. Any update on stock arrivals ?
  24. Sounds eina, as far as I know Omnico are the agents for Giro, best bet it to take the helmet back to your LBS and let them arrange the replacement.
  25. cool, do you have a rough date when they will reach Joberg ? What is the weight of the Zaskar 100 frame vs the old carbon marathon frame ? Zaskar looks alot less chunky and lighter ? Very cool bikes, reall like the Crank Brothers wheels on the Team bike !
