Maybe the Captain would be better off giving advice on his type of riding. I honestly dont think he has ever ridden 50km on a MTB. A glance at his STRAVA shows 4000km logged in app 9 years. That doesnt inspire confidence in his advice on the longer stuff. But then again that is the Captain, will always have advice on anything.

A long day in the saddle. 40 plus degree heat. Searching for windmills to fill bottles. And that is why I love our sport.

I have not been paid to say this. I am in no way affiliated to Farr. But I have to share this. I bought a Farr saddle a few months ago. From ride one, I was happy. A good few 100km rides at all is fantastic. Today, I cranked it up a touch. A 200km + ride on horrendous road surfaces on my hardtail. After the ride my legs are obviously tired. My arms are tired. And my hands took a hammering. My feet were on fire. But my backside is perfect. I can climb onto that saddle right now and feel like I felt at 5am this morning. My bum is soo happy. This saddle is fantastic. So if you spend extended times in the saddle, consider a Farr saddle. Your ass will thank you later!

Does anybody have a recipe for green chilli sauce? On the yank cooking shows, they make a dish then ladle green chilli sauce over it. Looks absolutely superb.

Guy that I rode with now during the Christmas weekend has done both.He says Trans Xhariep was much harder than 361 in his opinion. I have only done Xhariep. It is a proper ride. No walk in the park that is for sure.

My bakkies battery was flat. So I took my other vehicle to my ride this morning.

Duct Tape Pal.Works lekker. I took a piece of electrical conduit. Then I took a piece of steel of the same diameter as the bar, heated it with a plumbers torch. Then a melted the half moon shape into each end on the conduit. Then I filled it with epoxy to make it strong. Duct taped it to the bar.

Right. Time to stop being a pussy. Set up done, time to start clocking some proper miles. I only have two goals for cycling in 2020. 1) Settle a score with the Xariep 320 km. This year the team thing didnt work. Will try as an individual next year. 2) Try to complete the Munga.
